Replying To Lockjaw:  "I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that we'll lose to Kerry in Killarney. Obviously it's one of the hardest fixtures for any team to play Kerry away in the Championship. But we've crossed paths a fair few times in the last number of years, and we've always given them a good rattle.

No doubt the League final defeat would have stung, and there's been plenty of commentary about the Murphy incident. They will be gunning for us no doubt. But I think if we can keep a cool head, and try to weather the early storm, then we have the footballers to hurt them. How sweet would a win down there be to get us back on track!

Just in terms of logistics, what are people's plans for going down? I think it's definitely an overnight job, but Killarney is an expensive spot to get a hotel in."
Have seen some ridiculous prices for hotels down there already, all going well am going to campervan it down the Saturday morning...hoping for a Saturday evening throw in and back up the round early enough on Sunday...anyone know when dates/times will be announced?

The hard route is winning Round 1 and Round 2A, especially if you get two tough teams in those rounds."
I don't agree, I think its better to hit them head on in the 1st round and take our chances and build momentum.
If we threw round 1, we probably would end up getting Tyrone or Derry away a few days later, slippery banana skin.

Campervan would be the right job. I'm thinking of hitting Galway Friday evening after work.
Down to Killarney early Saturday morning and back up to Galway after. Hopefully for a good celebratory feed of pints.

I heard that Killarney Chamber of Commerce prefer Saturday evening for those big games, as makes it more of weekend for local business, as visiting fans would be more inclined to stay over. However the fight between GAA+ and RTE over the game might decide it.

Sure if you're happy to settle for second best......

Speaking of second best the anniversary of your one and only appearance in the big final is coming up in 2030. Are there any events planned to mark the occasion?
