What members of our squad are not suitable for summer football.Would you have different squads for the league and the championship.

The players in the squad are the best players in the county, whether they're playing in the summer or the winter.

While I am gutted that we are out of Ulster and the 3 in a row hope is now gone for another decade or whatever, in hindsight this enforced break could help the team refresh and re-calibrate ahead of the All Ireland series.

Yes we will face a challenging away opening match to one of the 8 provincial finalists, which potentially could be very tough, but it could be also a platform to launch a full on assault on the All ireland Championship. Like we would be going into that game very fresh, and I would fancy Donegal to give anybody a game.

I wish I shared your optimism but we have very little past experience of going far or well when we don't win Ulster. Unlike a Tyrone, Mayo or Armagh.
Wouldn't be surprised if we are out of the entire thing before quarter final stage

Half way through the league, I remember chatting to a fella, and both of us agreed that ulster would be better off, leaving alone, considering the side of draw Donegal were on.
We went Galway, Kerry,louth and Armagh. Not changing my mind on either just yet!

You think we're gonna do a derry on it after their league win and lose every game now?! I suppose it's possible if we draw maybe kerry and then maybe armagh or derry or something like that. Can't see it personally, we'll give it a good rattle whoever we get. Past history will count for precisely nothing.

Winning Ulster means a lot, and during that 2011 - 2012 phase, I think winning Ulster was necessary psychologically for the players to have the belief to go down the road and take on the likes of Dublin, Kerry, Cork, Mayo etc.

However the bulk of this group of players have won 4 x Ulster titles, they have won Div 1 & 2 league titles and McKenna Cup, they have reached the All Ireland final last year and lost.

We are nightmare draw for any Provincial finalist in the All Ireland first round, even with them at home, they staring down the barrel of a fresh energized Donegal team that had 4 weeks or so to remedy some flaws that Down forensically exposed in our tactical armour after studying us all winter. If I was a manager of any other team in Ireland, I would hoping to avoid us.

The key will be avoiding injuries to key players like Langan, McGee, Conor O'Donnell etc, and hopefully getting Oisin Gallen firing for more than 1 half and if we are really lucky, getting Ciaran Thompson back.

I feel a lot better today than last Sunday. Fair play to Monaghan. Down and out and they win. Derry have a lot of questions to answer.
And now Dublin battering Louth.
If Down beat Armagh tomorrow it will be some two weeks of football. Suppose it is already.

Still fearful of Kerry in the first knockout game but I'm getting more confident now given the shocks today.
Imagine if we got the chance of revenge against down?
Looking forward to the draw now.
