If in addition to the results above if ros fail to beat donegal or mayo then it would be a 4 way tie on 6 points, with roscommon the most likely loser on score difference ( but that depends on the margins of victory/ defeat). Ironically if the dubs beat armagh , not only does a result v monaghan guarantee survival, but even a defeat to monaghan for us could still leave us okay on 4 points if donegal were to beat monaghan in round 7. So ironically a dublin result against armagh is more important ( in terms of liklihood of survival) than our own result v monaghan."
One thing you've ignored here is the possibility that Galway can charge up their points difference with a 10+ point win in Monaghan. Five teams so far have beaten Monaghan by 11 points on average. Galway should be heading up there to secure a win by 10+, to bolster our position in case Armagh secure those wins over Dublin and Kerry in the last 2 rounds.

And its dangerous talking about big wins in clones. I would be very happy with a 1 point win and i would say that PJ would take that now if it was offered

5 teams have beaten them by an 11 point average so far. If we're 'happy' with a 1pt win against that backdrop, it suggests that we probably belong in division 2 anyway. Inniskeen I think, not Clones.

We were a player up for over half the match. We should have been winning that from the position we were in, not doing well to get a draw. We butchered goal chances. Turned over possession so many times around the middle. Having said that, there were many positives too, especially the new players we have brought through.

They definitely won't beat Monaghan in clones in two weeks as the game is not on there ,,,,,,,,,

I think that this type of talk is very dangerous. Monaghan have had some terrible results , but they didnt turn into a bad team overnight. Scotstown lads will be getting more settled back in, and they have some really dangerous forwards. They were unlucky not to beat dublin , and see what dublin did to ros. Iniskeen will be even tougher, and i certainly dont think that if we walk out with a 1 point win that it is any way an indicator that we deserve to go to division 2.

It is an incredibly tough place to go. The stands are right on top of the pitch and once the crowd got behind Donegal you could feel the lift it gave them. Even with the extra man it is never easy there. That said, we should have seen it out.

You can say unlucky not to beat Dublin, and look what Dublin did to Ros. I can say Armagh beat them by 12pts, and haven't picked up a league point in 4 outings since.

very impressed with your performance though I know yous will be disappointed at how it slipped away when we went down to 14. but I think yous have the makings of a brilliant squad that will challenge for Sam if you get a run of luck with the injuries. Yous have some serious physicality and well able to push up on kickouts etc. Unearthing a few nice talents up top as well.

both teams were missing big names but said a lot that we felt we had to bring on the likes of Mogan and Roarty in that second half.

On the other hand, it's possibly fair to say that any side that can't chisel a result on their home patch with a 13pt lead over Roscommon, and 45mins or so gone off the clock, can't be totally trusted to do the business in Inniskeen either.

Monaghan have waved the white flag for relegation since losing to Dublin. Huge score conceded against Mayo, yesterday hammered by Kerry who didn't get out of 2nd gear and didn't start David Clifford. Anything less than a 5 to 6 point win for Galway will be a big surprise
