On a seperate note, well done to the hurlers and Ladies Footballers on a good wins Sunday.

The Ladies have become like the men in the league, constantly up and down, so I'd imagine promotion and winning Division 3 is the bare minimum for them. Time for them really to start establishing themselves as a Division 2 team. Their performances in that division in recent years shows they are capable of that.

As for the hurlers, a great win that should them in a strong position for promotion, given there is only one other Christy Ring side left to play. That win Sunday should give great hope of being able to compete and survive in Christy Ring this year, given fears we could be lambs for the slaughter.

Just one last thing on the hurlers and maybe a poster from a hurling club could answer this. Why is there once again a poor representation of our clubs on the hurling team and a lot of outsiders again. Barely any players from Gaels, Doms, Oran & Tremane. Wasn't this an issue before with previous management and was a large factor in one manager getting the boot in mid February?

I still say it wasn't a square ball."
The hooter decision il live with and the free that probably should have went to roscommon il live with it but my god saying that wasn't a square ball is crazy.

We will have to agree to disagree on the square ball but one question no Rossie poster is asking is how did we let a rookie catch the ball cleanly, turn around and punch it over the bar. If the shoe was on the other foot do you think a Rossie forward would be allowed do the same thing with only seconds remaining?

Yeah, great come-from-behind win for the hurlers. The 'outside' players was an issue in Longford previously too but less so this season (so far).

I am from Kerry and I agree it was a square ball.Goal should not have been allowed. Bad decisions went both ways though. Kerry s keeper was penalised for a slow kickout and a handy point resulted for Roscommon. The Rossies keeper was as slow on other occasions and no free awarded. Tomas Kennedy had a perfect point waved wide in first half and the ref penalised Mike Breen of Kerry for not handing back the ball on the wrong and it cost us another two points. Decisions work both ways. The hooter point was fine but in the interest of fairness the free was very soft and could have gone the other way too.

Replying To GerBo:  "A very encouraging display Sunday, especially fight shown in the second half to come from 7 points down and take the lead. While nobody went down to Killarney expecting to come home with anything, one can't help but feel this could prove to be one that could away.

While Kerry had some star players on the field, the reality is, it was still only a half strength Kerry team. You just had to look at the time camera showed all the players sitting in the stand to realise that, not to mention the Dingle players probably in Geaney's bar. I know we were missing a good few also and a number of debutants, but the game this game transpired, this was a golden opportunity.

We all would've said to ourselves last week "where are the 6 pts going to come from to stay?" and for this to happen we knew we'd to need to get a head results against the head and there was the perfect opportunity Sunday and I fear will be get a better opportunity between now and March 22nd.

Anyways onto Sunday now, which was always going to be a must win/relegation 4 pointer even if it is only round 2. We simply have to win, or I see no way we are staying up. I think we should win, but after Sunday there will be an air of expectation and we will be the bookies faves, given it's at home and we've beaten Monaghan the last 2 years in the Hyde, This never usually sits well with Roscommon and Monaghan will be an wounded animal, which they thrive on.

I expect Sunday to be played like a cagey, knockout championship style game"
A golden opportunity gone mainly due to the breaks that went Kerrys way and while Roscommon got some also things did not balance themselves out and was no time to react to the final error.

As a neutral watching.

One of Michael Burns scores in the 1st half s was about 8 to 9 steps before scoring.

Clifford sideline score came from him fouling his marker McCormack

A clear as day Square ball for Kerrys 1st goal

Penalty was a dive as the Kerry player felt a hand on his back.

Last free that resulted in winner had two fouls to Roscommon before it ignored and Kerry had 3 man breach before it ignored also.

A better more balanced ref and Roscommon would have won by a few points to spare but losing could now prove very costly in a relegation battle.

I agree our keeper wasn't penalised. Tomas Kennedy effort tailed wide I had a perfect view of it in the ground.

Mike Breen held the ball out arms length than handing it back, it's a nonsense rule to begin with and won An Ghaeltacht the All-Ireland semi-final and Dingle the Munster final.

No could about the last free it should have went to Roscommon instead. All in all the majority of mistakes by the officials went Kerrys way in a contest won with the last kick/punch of the match. I just hope that come the Mayo game in round 7 we aren't looking back at Sundays game for costing us a place in Division 1.

Cian D'arcy from Tipp still involved with Longford?

We had a lot of inexperienced players playing to and something they will definitely look at this week and won't let happen again

Hasn't played since 2024. Haven't heard him mentioned for 2026 either, although the Longford manager, Díarmuid Cahill is from the same club in Tipp.
