Replying To PressureKick:  "A semi is nothing to brag about? So the years Mayo made the final in 04 and 06 and got absolutely hockeyed by Kerry, were they not good years because of how they ended? What about 2019 when annihilated in a semi by Dublin?

Meath beat Dublin, Kerry & Galway last year, the 3 most successful counties the game has seen. It was a very good year by any standard, and one Mayo would kill for at the moment

Im mentioning Mayo because they're relevant to the discussion. You keep having pops at Meath for no reason"
I would say its that they are still sore from the 96 final

Well done to Toreen. I hope they go all
The way. Great ambassadors for hurling in Connacht. We are a fair bit off them in Roscommon

Hear kobe is training with the Mayo senior set up St Kildas have requested he gets ahead of his S & C before making the move I think that's a bit of a ridiculous request by St Kildas. Also the Mayo senior team off to Portugal on Sunday for a warm weather training session and Kobe is going with them .

Andy Moran was on Smaller Fish last week. He said they invited Oisín on the Portugal camp to share some input on the professionalism of the AFL setup. Kobe is eligible to play if picked, Kilda are OK with that.

Yeah seen snippets. I guess if GAA due no compo from afl for losing players there would be no compo due if Kobe was to get injured hopefully that isn't an issue.

He played a school match Moran said day before interview

It will definitely add to interest.

6 weeks yesterday till we meet in salthill looking forward to getting going

Happy new year everyone. So the first inter county of the year finally looms. In order to claim ultimate glory a team must either beat Kerry or beat a team that has beaten Kerry. For us Connacht will surely be the main target and we have, I believe good reason to be hopeful. Our defeats to Galway have been very narrow and they have reached 2 AI finals. This I think will be the year when the pendulum swings back towards Mayo. New manager, the transition from team that contested finals is now complete and our rivals are starting to age and slip a bit. While Donegal were very poor in the final their achievement was nonetheless impressive, and Murphy was central to it. They too would now seem to be past peak with too many key men pushing on in years. Cillian can be a Murphy for mayo this season. I cannot see where we can beat the kingdom but we should be going toe to toe with the best of the rest.

Mayo should be better this year and that wont be hard on last years performances. There is a lot of hope about young forwards snd midfielders coming through, but just remember that both Sligo and Leitrem were beating Mayo at both minor and under 20 these last few years, me thinks these rising young guns might not be that good. Poor enough Louth under 20 team beat these rising stars last year in semi final.

Im not sure what you mean when you say that "the transition from team that contested finals is now complete" You still have players on the panel from those days including ones that returned this year.

Lol how was getting absolutely deflated by kerry in final? . Guaranteed we have been deflated in numrous finals also but you have some cheek to come on here and talk about under age players like that in an amatueur game . .

A lot of talk in Mayo about these young stars coming through, but as you stated Sligo and Roscommon were beating them at underage in the last few years..

I personally think Roscommon will win Connacht and Andy Moran will get a kick in the league but it will be same old story in championship
