Replying To Seanfan:  "Aren't they looking at shortening it by extending County to the 2nd week of August?"
Yes that's the plan and some are losing the run of themselves with anger with that slight change. You do wonder how things was managed at all when the Senior All-Ireland final was played on the 3rd Sunday in September for many decades

There were way less county championship games before the September finals, so plenty of time for club championships during the summer. Many AI winners in hurling and Football for over a hundred years only had to play between 4 and 6 games.

There's for and against. There are inefficiencies in the club season. Champions of All Ireland finalists having a bye from their provincial first round should be freeing up one week. Hurling and football club semi finals on the same weekend in January would free up a second week before Christmas, if that was considered. Two changes like that should result in low impact of expanding the inter county season by 2 weeks. The concern though is would they stop there or will they try to increment by more again. The CPA should have remained in an overseeing capacity!

The hurling and football semifinals being on the same weekend would depend on if a club reached a SF in both codes or not.

Said it before about Kilcoo, they never get a hard game until they stroll through Down. Beat by a pile of older men. Well done Scotstown.

Previously they won or reached the All-Ireland final the current crop have now gone 4 years in a row without winning Ulster.

Daft tactics 1st half to play possession football and not shot at the goal for 20 minutes

Scotstown in back to back roller coasters with extra time , a close Connacht final and a dramatic Munster decider. This year's club championship has been very entertaining. All four provincial champions will fancy their chances. I wouldn't call it with any degree of confidence but am looking forward to both semi finals.

Munster club football final was a tough act to follow. Football needs a strong Munster championship at both inter county and club level.

My predictions

Scotstown v Brigids to be a right good battle with the Roscommon side to come out of fine margin contest.

Ballyboden v Dingle. Dublin champions to win comfortably by 6 if not more points.
