When you get 2 ulsters and an all Ireland title in the bag, then maybe you'll be in a position to accuse a team like kilcoo with all home grown talent of "filling the togs"………

Says a supporter of a team who have filled their togs in their last 3 final appearances. 2 from 6 looks a lot better than 0 from 3.

The point stands. They are glorified as this team that has won all around them when in reality they have massively under achieved on the Ulster circuit. When they lose on Saturday it will be 3 in a row lost.

Personally, I'll never be able to see a place as small as Kilcoo as being under achievers due to 'only' winning two Ulster clubs and an all Ireland. They are the ultimate over achievers. Underachievement would be if a club had say, 4 villages combined, the most registered players in Ulster in 2023, and also transferred in an intercounty player from a club 20 minutes down the road, and still not having an Ulster medal. So if they had a bigger population they would be underachieving?

"Clubs around the county don't blood in 3 or 4 excellent young players in 3 or 4 years never mind doing it all this year like Scotstown"… You're forgetting the small fact that Scotstown have 40+ lads at every age group. Of course they're going to stumble across 3 or 4 lads that can be bed into the senior team each year based purely on the law of averages when you have that many players at each age group. How did not Scotstown see that out. Terrible game managment and a man up. Maybe they'll nick in ET 222 (UK) - Posts: 893 - 13/12/2025 19:49:57 2648246 Link 0 |

Looking very good for them at half-time in extra time. Surely they can see it out from here.

As I've said during the Monaghan championship, Scotstown will be in Croke Park this year. farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 480 - 13/12/2025 20:31:53 2648251 Link 0 |

Another big hurdle to jump next with St Brigids and that match will likely be played in Longford or Mullingar? Fully deserved to win tonight, hard to believe it's taken Scotstown as long to win Ulster with so many Monaghan seasoned campaigners in their ranks. Well done to Scotstown in winning an Ulster title today after several near misses. They now have to beat St Brigid's to get to Croke Park. Fancy St. Brigid's myself as they will be more direct than Kilcoo were today but will need to substantually improve their kickout strategy and win more possession at midfield. Should be an interesting game between two contrasting styles of play with different game plans. Will the game be played on the 3rd or 4th of January and where is the likely location (Mullingar, Longford, Cavan, Croke Park)? letsgetgoing (Roscommon) - Posts: 824 - 13/12/2025 21:03:19 2648267 Link 0 |
