Replying To Freethinker:  "There you go again calling people who disagree with Mr T Deranged. That's straight out of his lexicon. I happen to think that Mr T is the worst thing that ever happened to America, Europe and the rest of the world Hardly enough to put me in the deranged category - but if it makes you feel better, so be it."
What is your logic for thinking he's the worse thing to happen the world.

I think his bark is worse than his bite. After all his hoopla his first term was unremarkable until he lost election and he helped fan flames of capitol riots

I'd be more concerned what will come from Vance or newsoom next

Replying To jm25:  "No if someone says something I agree with ie David Clifford is best footballer in Ireland I will give it a thumbs up.

A debate involves two opposing views.

I am in fact balanced I call out both sides ie I'll call out Barney for nonsense and you and freethinker on other side

Like see how you cannot give him an iota of credit.

I can criticise and give credit where due"
So if 90 per cent of his presidency is nuts you will only post about the positive 10 per cent. And accuse posters of having tds who highlight all the mad stuff. You are honestly making no sense.

By the way I already said he was right to try and clamp down on the border. More than once. You say you know nothing of the Venezuela situation yet you highlight the India/ Pakistan ceasefire? Are you trying to tell me you knew there was a problem between India and Pakistan? Really?

Yes I'm a big cricket fan getting up early watching ashes this weather was actually gonna bring it up here on this forum.

currently listening to ed Joyce interview with Joe Molloy funny enough so well aware of issues between India and Pakistan through cricket

Heck the Indian and Pakistan PL were suspended this year due to conflict so even a passing sports fan prob heard about it.

Imran Khan Pakistan captain at 92 World Cup currently in jail is an interesting story

Both are far more renowned countries then Venezuela isn't India the largest population now

Does that satisfy I know of conflict

Ive not read anything on goings on in Venezuela I thought they had a crackpot leader who trump would get on with like balsanaro

Does that seem like a very satisfied populace? Satisfied with what candidates were LET in?"
Candidates who ran for election knew the deadline to their candicacy declared as did those who dudn't get the quota of backers. Government parties had weak enough candidates so they weren't gonna make it easy for any potential independent candidates to make them look even worse. Regardless, had independents declared their intent a few weaks earlier then, arguably, their name would have been on the ballot paper.

Good response but even you have to admit there were a lot of spoiled votes. There were/are a lot of unhappy types out there. When Higgins was elected I don't remember such a show.

It's actually hilarious that him and his supporters including people on here cry about woke lefties and snowflakes yet they are bringing in stuff like this?

How does this align with Trumps demand for freedom of speech.

And Connolly was not an overly strong candidate but she got out early, which you would need to do as an independent, to get the nominations and momentum. The big party candidates have the luxury of announcing late as they will get the required nominations and then be propelled front and centre by the party election apparatus. That's why I can't understand why those who are of a conservative hue would not have started prepping for it last spring.

People also forget that until the 97 election, two or three candidates was the norm. Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh was even elected with no opponent in 1974!

The spoilt vote campaign was an interesting mix of where the "respectable" right (Iona institute and Libertas types) seemed to align with the extreme right (overt racists and conspiracy nuts) to promote a fairly successful social media campaign that caught the imagination of a lot of angry people.

Who cares, we aren't American. People should be more worried with issues in this country rather than the Trump smokescreen constantly being shoved down our throats by the Irish Media

I wonder what the US authorities will make of the comments on this forum if they get to look at them...what will their opinion be of the two pointer or the 50m dissent rule!

That's all very well, but this is aimed at visitors and tourists to America. It won't affect me as I am in the big departure lounge and my kids have done their J1s. Was listening to an MEP earlier and he said that if it will become law, many like him who support Palestine etc would be affected.

I don't think it's being regarded as a joke internationally. But, you may be right. Time will tell

lol again at your usual tactic of talking down to someone

Questioning the knowledge of someone on an anonymous forum? Really odd behaviour

Who doesn't know that India and Pakistan been at loggerheads for a long time

Keep your predictions coming though they are always spot on.

Now India (it's a big country in Asia) have a t20 match just starting I might keep an eye on.

They have been almost since they were inaugurated as independent states following another disastrous partition by the remnants of British colonial rule. They square up periodically over Kashmir or some other flashpoint. They did before Trump, during Trump and will again long after Trump is only a memory.
