Replying To yew_tree:  "Over confidence no. Cavan might not have been seen as a "glamour tie" but there are numerous reasons crowd numbers are way down. Confidence and morale in the team and management is at an all time low. Throw int he cost of going to games (games coming thick and fast) and the good weather etc there was always going to be a poor attendance. I'm not one bit surprised we were beaten.

And I wouldn't be surprised if we go up to Omagh and beat Tyrone but either way it will just delay the inevitable."
Nothing surprises me with Mayo Yew Tree and true Mayp might beat either Donegal or Tyrone and if they do the the late goal yesterday might count on scoring difference.I was only listening to snippets on radio tbh but I presume Tommy Conroy not back yet.Anyway it aint over till its over so keep the head up Yew Tree.

Tommy Conroy is not back yet and of course no word from McStay on it .

I wouldn't be surprised if we went up and beat Tyrone and maybe even Donegal if they rest players for their last game.

It would be such a mayo thing to do .
Your right nothing shocks me either anymore about mayo .

Though I know one thing whatever happens mcstay is finished.

It certaibly looks that way unless thet get to an All Ireland final.

McStay did excellent with St.Brigids and won Connaught with the Rossies so he has the know how but def not. getting the best out of Mayo.

I'd be very surprised if that happened. Mayo a busted flush. Doomed to never win an all ireland unfortunately. A great county that had some great teams.

Jesus the analysis on Meath Cork was shocking, its as if they were talking about a different game. Spoke about Cork like it was a game they lost against a div 3 team, meath finished ahead of them in the league. Really poor stuff

Had to laugh when they spoke of all the wides Cork had, when Meath's shooting, especially in the first half was terrible, had to have kicked at least twice the wides Cork had.

In fairness to the pundits, half the games aren't on live TV and they have 1hr to review the highlights before they have to talk about them. Unless they each attend one of the games - expect a bit of bull when talking about the matches.
By all accounts - if you'd watched the full Meath v Cork game, you'd have fallen asleep during it and wouldn't have been able to present the show.

The Saturday Game only starting at 22:50. Only one live game on RTE tomorrow, Sunday. Their would be up roar from the hurling community.

It's beyond me why people still watch the evening show. It's such a poor programme. Poor scripted analysis of games. The highlights is a joke. Stopped watching it a long time ago. Surely RTE can put some effort into producing a proper show. At least with the RTE live games you can mute the half time analysis .

Don't bother watching analysis, shocking stuff as usual. If they can't watch the match don't comment on it. Time to look belong Ulster too

Such a shame tg4 don't have the funds to win the rights to show the live games. Or that Virgin media don't come in and do some bidding.

Shaun Patton's ankle injury has been well documented since the Ulster final 3 weeks ago. It was always going to be a race against time to be fit for any of the group matches.
Amused to hear RTE radio coverage begin yesterday with " the sensational news from Breffni is that Donegal have dropped their star and long standing goalkeeper Shaun Patton" … what was all that about ???

Last night Joanne introduced the Carlow Longford match as a shoot out for a place in the knock out rounds of the TC!

It was anything but. Carlow were already through and Longford were already out!

I'd also add that Lee Keegan has an annoying habit of speaking over the other pundit. Several times last night he started adding to the point or making another point to the one being made by Conor McManus. I wondered was he trying to outdo McManus and mark himself as the senior pundit or was it just enthusiasm from the fact he has so much he wants to say. I'd say the latter but it was annoying to have him effectively cut McManus off on a question McManus was asked and he did it repeatedly. He should have been told in his ear the first time it happened to shut up and speak when he's spoken to!

Again last night on the Sunday Game in the piece about the Tailteann Cup the discussion came to how well the competition is going and how serious teams are taking it. This is a constant reoccurring theme on both the Saturday/Sunday Game and other sports outlets. Why the presenters/pundits feel the need to harp on about this I do not know. At this stage it really is so cringy. The funny thing is on last nights show I was expecting the discussion to go down this route and it surely did.
