Just looking back at the Championship predictions week 13 thread and the amount of posters who predicted a comfortable Dublin win v Galway some were like 7 or 8pts and NOW the same posters are predicting Galway to win the All Ireland!! My Prediction for Sunday. Galway like the group game a month ago to be leading by half time by a couple of points and come the final quarter to be leading by 5 or 6 points. Armagh then to come with a late rally but will be too little to late on this occasion Full time Galway 0-15 Armagh 0-14. Scorers Galway S Walsh 0-5 3fs, R Finnerty 0-3 2fs,P Conroy 0-1, Dylan McHugh 0-1 Liam Silke 0-1. Not sure if other Donegal supporters feel the same, but I'm finding it hard to muster much interest in this final given how dejected I feel after our semi-final loss. It's nothing to do with sour grapes or anything like that towards Galway. They won fair and square and deserve their place in the final. It was just so disappointing for us. We know Armagh are a very good team but they haven't managed to beat us in four games in 2024. Very fine margins I admit, but we'd have been a good match for them. Anyway, enough about us. The final should be a good game. There's no love lost between either side and they're very evenly matched. I hope the likes of Walsh, Comer and Kelly are a bit closer to full fitness. I've a feeling they'll need to be because Armagh have shown that their squad depth is very good, and their substitutes make telling contributions when introduced. I just feel that Galway have a wee bit extra though. The pain of losing in 2022 will drive them on to come out on top by a point or two. I'll go with 1-16 - 1-14 as a score prediction. Lots of Galway boys slabbering about brawls. I think what really worries them is how Armagh played all football against Kerry. They're not really relying on getting into Galway heads. We can play our own game. You'd nearly swear they'd love a mass brawl so if they won they could say they won by playing football and bate a crowd of MMA fighters. May the best team win. It wasn't easy to get parking. Lovely views on Benbulben and Maeve's Cairn, you should take a trip up to Connacht sometime, it's a lovely province, it would take you away from that faulty keyboard! Connacht champions, came through the group of death unbeaten, played an extra prelim round game, beat Dublin, beat the Ulster champions and never really at what could be regarded as full-strength.
