in fairness there was only a limited amount of lower cusack and lower hogan on sale before saturdays quarter finals. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 08/08/2016 17:16:54 1898210 Link 1 |
They are the official ticketing partner of the GAA yes, doesn't give them free reign to sell tickets without the GAA's go-ahead. Just like Ticketmaster are the official ticketing partner for most concerts / events in Ireland but they can't sell tickets without the promoter's (MCD etc.) go-ahead. I don't know what people are complaining about you can buy a ticket for the Dublin Kerry today, 3 years ago the same game was not a sell out and that included roscommon minors who would bring a bigger support then most minor teams. ros1 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1211 - 08/08/2016 17:21:15 1898217 Link 0 |
Very few available now. You can only buy a Hospitality package for the Lower Hogan now. Seems most have been snapped up by Kerry fans or those that bought the packages earlier in the year.

Fairly clearly the gaa and tickets.ie come to a agreement when tickets can be sold. There are very few games in croker other than all Ireland's finals that are completely sold out

ROS 1 - The NFL final sold out, last Saturdays double header sold out, The Kerry V Dublin semi final will be sold out, as well as the two All-Ireland finals, that is at least 5 sell outs. fainleog (Limerick) - Posts: 602 - 08/08/2016 18:09:09 1898246 Link 1 |

The 2013 all Ireland semi final was a sell out

My point was that quarter and semi finals don't normally sell out, I did say baring all Ireland finals in my post. The league was a one off with the 1916 celebrations taking place it would not have been sold out otherwise. The gaa both for the league final and last Saturday announced the attendance as full house and not the actual figures which is a bit strange

The match was sold out. Just because not exactly every ticket made its way through the turnstiles doesn't mean they weren't sold. 90% of the time a sold out game won't have a full capacity on the day as touts get hold of tickets. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 09/08/2016 09:52:03 1898572 Link 0 |
Because they seem to have gone down the other sports routes and announced the ticket sales and not the turnstiles. take soccer and rugby in particular they give you a wrong attendance the whole time. I have seen munster rugby games with about 10thousand in the ground and they will give an attendance of around 16 thousand which is wrong as what happens is that count season ticket holders in the attendance despite them not attending as they class it as they have already bought a ticket through their annual fee but the fact that didn't buy a ticket for the game clean matter they still count them in the official attendance and give you a clearly wrong attendance hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 09/08/2016 09:58:02 1898577 Link 0 |
There will be no issue with ticket's for the Mayo v TIpp semi final anyway. I hear the upper tiers will stay closed and the GAA are excepting a crows of less than 40,000. Maybe similar to the Kilkenny v Waterford game. Mayo will have the majority of fans. I hope TIpp followers support their team. A few neutrals may go to support Tipp. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11557 - 09/08/2016 10:22:06 1898602 Link 0 |

ROS I - Do not be such a pessimist !! - Look on the bright side, as I pointed out to you the GAA will have at least five full houses this year and could have another this Sunday, should they have arranged a double header for the hurling semi-final and replayed semi- final in Croke Park. There could be a draw in any of the three games I pointed out that will have full houses, which no doubt would have a full house also and would add to the 5 full houses. There are always one offs on the horizon and all of these full houses are without the participation of the Roscommon minors !!. There is no fear of the GAA and their success. fainleog (Limerick) - Posts: 602 - 09/08/2016 11:07:59 1898645 Link 0 |
You're wrong. There were no Hill tickets available. I had a nightmare getting tickets for that game. It was a sell-out most definitely.

Ah watching roscommon does that to you! But still I live in hope every year. Would agree should have had a double header for the hurling would have attracted neutral support that might not bother going to either semi on there own.

There is something wrong with it as it's not an official attendance. The point of the word attendance is people who attended an event not how many people were entitled to attend. it hasn't been the done thing in the gaa until the national league final this year as there had been sell outs for all dublins semi finals since 2010 but wasn't always announced as 82,300 as the attendance. hill16no1man (Dublin) - Posts: 12665 - 09/08/2016 13:59:29 1898799 Link 0 |
I agree I would rather they give the turnstiles count like they always have done up to this year.
