Replying To Viking66:  "Plenty of slips twixt cup and lips Pope.

If you lose to Dublin and if we beat Offaly, both possible results, we will beat you in the Park.

And if you beat Dublin and we beat Offaly we will beat you in the Park.

And if you beat Dublin and we lose to Offaly we will beat you in the Park if we have to win to stay up. You might win otherwise.

Of course you are currently favourites to win Leinster, but that doesn't mean that you will. You have been favourites several times before in the Round Robin era, and you have only won Leinster once in that time."
You seem to conveniently forget that Galway is a Connacht team. Have a look at yesterday's Connacht final and you might get an inkling as to what that means to Connacht people. Reading some of the nonsense here about Munster and Leinster is a joke - it's a game of hurling played by club players chosen to play for their county. Provincialism hasn't worked in either code.

Replying To Tadhg2020:  "I have to be honest viking, I didnt see much fight at all. I know you are a fan and all but I think you are stretching it a bit looking for the silver lining there. I dont think there is anything positive that can be taken from that game from a wexford point of view.
Thata not to say that there isnt more in you but there is no evidence to support that there is to date. Wexford are severely lacking in all the metrics used to analyse performance atm.

Dublin weren't a whole lot better but they do have Burke and one or 2 more. They are way too slow and ponderous on the ball and telegraph their intent. They dont play at the pace or intensity required. I saw them in the league final too and they were the same."
They weren't that slow against Limerick last year in Croke Park. Did the Munster campaign turn into a monster campaign?

Im not sure what you are getting at here. I think everyone knows where Galway is located but you play in leinster so you are a leinster team in hurling terms.
As for provincialism , as you put it, im not sure what you are talking about or mean there. I can tell you that the Munster Hurling Championship has worked out very well. It generated over 9m in gate receipts last season. The Munster Football final had over 10k more in attendance than the Connacht one too so it didnt do too badly either.

No they weren't but one swallow doesnt make a summer. They have failed to back that up in pretty much every performance since. Every team can be beaten on any given day as Galway have proven over and over again in both codes.

Replying To bloodandbandage:  "Genuine question Viking - From what you've seen of Wexford this season, do you really think they can win their next 3 games?"
If Wexford play like that have, then difficult to see a win from anywhere, I live in hope but needs a massive turnaround in approach and intensity. And probably major team changes just to freshen up things.

Ive seen both Kilkenny and Galway this year and neither are world beaters. Dublin arent either.
I know there's more in our lads, its up to them to find it. I can't do that for them.

Until its over its not over.

When its over, whatever way it ends, it will be onto club. Hoping that we can get promoted back up in hurling or football or preferably both. Still working with our u14s also, thats a year round job. Executive and CB meetings are also year round jobs. And this year because I certainly dont have the time to do it I volunteered for the job of being our District Jesus. Like the parable of the loaves and fishes feeding the 5000, Im going to have to get referees for all our Junior B games. All thats outside of being a lone parent with 4 children, running a small business, and getting in a quota of parties and bike runs.

Lookit Tadhg I dont mind being optimistic. Friends have asked me before does it not leave me feeling very low when it all ends badly. The answer to that problem is be busy, and look forward to the next cartoon. Ive years of practice dealing with sporting lows at this stage. Apart from Wexford Ive followed Millwall and Cliftonville in soccer all my life, and the Bears and Cubs in NFL and MLB since I was a teenager. And when the highs come by #### I enjoy them ;-)

I watched the final. Was delighted to see the Rossies win, not because Im anti Galway in any way. For much the same reason I was supporting them yesterday I was supporting you against Kerry in 2022.
Provincialism hasnt worked for you because you come from a Football province. I know there are pockets of passionate hurling people in Mayo. Roscommon and Sligo also. But the only code where theres genuine competition in Connacht is Football. And thats not my fault, Id change that tomorrow if I could. But I cant.
It works just fine for us in Leinster and Munster, and tbh worked just fine in Ulster when I was living up there in the early 90s, and would likely work again up there if the Ulster Council pushed it.

Only people I know who follow "province" are from counties that are way down pecking order. Mostly Ulster thing.

Cork football supporters would prefer Satan to win anything than Kerry!

We are all on here arguing and discussing our views on hurling..we see again this weekend it's just sport..
I want to wish Charlie Mitchell all the best in his recovery..hope to see him back again but his health is a lot more important to him and his family.
