Roscommon are very impressive side, if they keep this consistency they will go deep in the All Ireland series I think. I have thought Roscommon sides in the past had a good chance but didn't show up after winning Connacht, but this side feel a bit different.

Cant see why provincial winners are not exempt from at least the next round as there has to be some advantage for winning the province.Winners of province and runners up both get home draws.Hope for the remainder of the c ship linesmen play a greater role on fouls etc as they do in rugby who whilst not my sport at least enforce the rules and give the referee assistance in what is given the size of the field tricky to get calls correct.

If all the provinces were equal, some advantage could be given, not with the current system. Have you looked at the various routes to provincial finals?

Replying To Expertinall:  "Maybe, proof read your post, not sure of your point? Nobody has said Kerry are not a fantastic team, they are. Look at the way their 'squad' dealt with Cork yesterday, fantastic approach and tactics. But the munster championship only had one division 1 team in it, and cannot be seeded, to keep the status quo, as that leads to home advantage to both finalists. What part of that is moaning, or inaccurate ?"
Janey you do go on and on.Our pwn championship has only one division one team in it also.Get a grip. For years Leinster often had only one team but it was the greatest team ever.

2001 was the first year of the back door. Roscommon beat Galway and Mayo to win Connacht but Galway returned to beat them in the quarter final in Castlebar and go on to win the All Ireland.

Why should there be an advatage for winning a province when the provinces are not equal? Kerry have always had this huge advantage, we shouldn't go back to it

Won the Division 2 League Final in 2018. Tommy Dowd was class power and finishing. Derek Duggan also very good. That free kick distance gets longer every retelling!

Roscommon beat Galway in the 2022 Division 2 final. They were very close to beating Dublin in one of the All Ireland group games.

For winning a Province you get a Cup and called Champions for a year.
Lines men like Umpires are wired with microphones and all are connected to the Referee. Do your research.

In 2001, Roscommon as Connacht champions lost the All Ireland quarter final to eventual champions Galway. That match was played in Castlebar. As posted elsewhere here, Roscommon's last All Ireland semi final was a one point defeat to Meath in 1991. Roscommon's last championship win in Croke park was against Armagh in the All Ireland semi final played on August 10, 1980.

Not sure abkut league but Roscommon def have not won a championship match in croker since 1980.They will probably break that record this year. They look like a good team.
