Surprised to see Setanta (Donegal) enter the Ulster senior hurling championship. Abbeydorney won the Kerry senior hurling championship but entered the Munster intermediate championship. Munster intermediate championship has proven to be a fair level for Kerry champions. Sensible decision making. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 9284 - 15/11/2025 23:22:06 2644659 Link 0 |

Have Naas much of a chance vs St. Martins? Naas seem strong but St. Martins are a serious outfit. NanaKK (Kildare) - Posts: 1 - 19/11/2025 00:22:09 2645230 Link 0 |

Of course Naas have a chance. They beat a very good MLR team in the QF.

No dont agree they have a slim chance but the Martins are taking this very serious this year and should win leinster in my opinion .Rested all the hurlers last week in the intermediate football to keep players fresh and are not going to slip up this year.

Do you think they'd be capable of beating Ballyhale if they were to meet?

Martins are favourites for the Naas game and rightly so. But it wouldn't be a huge shock if they lost. A few players not playing to their best level is all it would take. Obviously I'm hoping there won't be any complacency in the Martins set up, they will likely never have a better chance of reaching a Leinster Final. And BTW Id be hoping they might win an AI, and I wouldn't put it past them if things go right as regards injuries and luck in the day. I still dont get the attitude of alot of Wexford people towards clubs like Naas, MLR, St Mullins, Clough Ballacolla and other Laois Champions, and Offaly clubs. There was widespread shock around the place when Gorey lost to KK, Ferns lost to St Mullins, and Rapps lost to Clough Ballacolla. The great Oulart team were the last Wexford champions to make a Leinster Final, since when clubs from Laois, Carlow and Offaly have made it 4 times. And in case anyone is underestimating Martins achievement in their last game, the Dublin champions have made the Leinster Final in all but 2 years since Oulart won it. And won 3 AI titles in that time also. None of the clubs who are in the Leinster Championship wouldve been relegated from our Senior Championship this year or any other year in the recent past. They'd be capable for sure, alot would depend on what happened on the day. If both teams played their best it would be very close.

agree on your post about wexfords attitude towards other clubs. they have a shocking record again offaly clubs with Oulart losing 3 leinster finals to 3 different offaly clubs. be great for hurling if martins could win the leinster.

Proper Leinster semi finals this year. Ballyhale and St Martins favourites to make the final. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 9284 - 22/11/2025 08:13:24 2645604 Link 0 |

Leinster hurling SFs were more proper than the Munster SFs last year. Much closer games.

When Dublin teams are out of the picture, we see the best of Leinster championship IMHO. Proper Leinster semi finals for that reason. Others will see it differently. So be it.

Why? The Dublin teams have played pretty good hurling over the last few years, can't say any of them were hard to watch.

Think he probably means not going to slip up in their attempts to reach a Leinster Final, then. We'll see later today anyway. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 3247 - 23/11/2025 10:32:03 2645719 Link 0 |

An odd statement. I don't think you could claim that Na Fianna, Crokes or Cuala lowered whatever standard you are holding them to! Looking forward to seeing Martins and Naas, Both are good outfits and while I fancy Martin's I'd give Naas a better chance than the punters seem to. Shamrocks will have too much for clough i suspect. What kind of nonsense is that. Na Fianna were the best team in Ireland last year, so how could it not be the best of Leinster when they were there? Dublin hurling clubs have represented Leinster very well over the last decade. It's brilliant to see them competing for All-Irelands. The stronger hurling is in more Leinster counties, the better. Shamrocks got their fill of it v Clough Ballacolla, Ballyhale seem to lack a bit of pace in their team compared to other years. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 998 - 23/11/2025 15:06:19 2645760 Link 0 |

Martin's the best team to come out of Wexford since Oulart, they have more string to their bows than Oulart as well, Oulart were a great hurling team but could struggle physically in December, the Martin's on the other hand have size and athleticism all over the pitch and they're well able to hurl too ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 710 - 23/11/2025 16:15:25 2645770 Link 0 |
