When you first pick up a hurl you're dreaming of walking up the steps of the Hogan in purple and gold. That's an achievable goal for these lads. What's the point of playing hurling at all if you're not trying to reach the top of the game? On the other hand I get what you're saying. It's very very hard starting out as a young adult in Ireland now and they essentially have to wait until they're finished hurling to even start. This forum has gone to the dogs, gone are the days when we'd have rumour's for weeks of a Paul Codd return. Rumours of Tom Dempsey being spotted at training etc... Stamp played early 04 and left the panel, think there mightve been some sort of falling out. Seamus Murphy got him back in in 2005 when took over as manager. But Stamp broke his heel, a freak injury, against Galway in a challenge game and missed the Leinster Championship games against Laois and Kilkenny. We lost to Clare then in the Qualifier but I didnt go, I was at a bike show, can't remember if Stamp played or not. Neither took a year out when fully fit and ready to play. Was looking through the paper at some of the points raised by Kinnerk and co Looks like they seemed to suggest we should be doing some form of combined schools side? Am I also right in saying that they took issue with the following? Lack of clarity on coaching plans at club level and the burden not being shared across enough shoulders Lack of coaching alignment between development squads across ages Questions on development squad coaching capabilities Lack of a process to upskill coaches Issues with a lack of feedback from players to coaches at under-age level Lack of connection between schools and clubs Not enough hurling contact time Hurling 365 in need of regeneration Some clubs not pulling their weight and not really engaging in any of this process ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 748 - 17/12/2025 17:01:32 2648702 Link

It was a miserable performance and I don't remember stamp being there but I'd have to look. He wasn't involved in 06 either. That was an awful season. And definitely not for a few years. So I had to look it up! Up or down very few lads leave the panel and come back without leaving again soon enough.
