Last year the margin of four points was the biggest gap between the teams in a decade. 75% of that margin was a goal that wasn't. Load of draws too. We haven't beaten them in 8 years though. That must change tomorrow. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 4499 - 08/05/2026 22:29:42 2671715 Link 0 |

Think there's only 2 at Counsel in 1st year who are in Wexford Development Squads. And 3 in Kilkenny Development Squads. Alot of their relative success is down to the quantity and quality of work they are putting in. They are qualified for a Leinster A first year final this year. Meanwhile Peters, with 16 1st years on the Wexford Development squad, are going for their 3rd Leinster 1st year B title in a row. Absolutely unbelievable they are hurling in B again, and equally unbelievable that Leinster is letting them. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 19461 - 09/05/2026 08:25:11 2671739 Link 0 |

The very best of luck to the minors and seniors today. For us to win, we need to do a lot of things we haven't done this year so far. Hopefully we can raise it and get over the line but it the heart ruling the head stuff:) hunting (Wexford) - Posts: 1213 - 09/05/2026 11:02:55 2671757 Link 0 |

Minors with it all to do at HT, their full-forward-line is skinning our full-back-line and our full-forward-line just can't make the ball stick, we've made too many handling errors across the pitch, commentator was saying we had a very strong wind although Galway long puck-outs were still going reasonably long, don't think the current black card rule is fit for purpose and especially at minor, a ten-minute sin-bin seems disproportionate in a sixty-minute game, think the rule has got out of hand and it's gone away from what it was supposed to punish in cynical fouls and now just punishes any foul that stops even a half-chance at getting a goal ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 1165 - 09/05/2026 12:41:16 2671769 Link 0 |

Bit of a disaster from the Minors, pretty much everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong, were second to every ball and were second to every break, Kennedy TBF to him brought it to Galway and Tobinto some extent but it was a very flat performance compared to the second half from last week ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 1165 - 09/05/2026 13:42:05 2671775 Link 0 |

Hugely disappointing performance by our minors today. Beaten all over the field its sad to relate. Our defence was shambolic and Galway created havoc every time they attacked. Our forwards couldn't break down a very solid rearguard and depended mostly on frees for scores. In fairness this is a really excellent Galway side and could well go all the way. We on the other hand flattered to deceive against Laois and Kilkenny. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 682 - 09/05/2026 14:22:02 2671777 Link 0 |

Very poor performance. But expected. Said so many times of all irelands were v Kildare and Offaly. As it stands Offaly will beat us by 10 points. Embarrassing Yellowhelmet (Australia) - Posts: 182 - 09/05/2026 17:24:36 2671813 Link 0 |

Bit more huff and puff in second half but precious little quality. Timbertony (Wexford) - Posts: 566 - 09/05/2026 17:40:44 2671821 Link 0 |

Very dissapointing result, and aside from a rally after HT and in the last five mins, it was a bit chastening again. beano (Wexford) - Posts: 1549 - 09/05/2026 17:46:28 2671823 Link 0 |

Goals killed us in the first half and wides killed us in the second half, wouldn't have been that far behind in the first half against the big wind had it not been for the goals but that first goal was an inexplicable mistake from Fanning ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 1165 - 09/05/2026 18:00:23 2671827 Link 0 |

Don't know if the Minors were that flattered against Laois and KK, they lost to Dublin by 3 and hit the crossbar late on, that Dublin side drew with Galway and lost to KK by a point so they should've been competing with Galway today based on all form

Puckouts were awful throughout. Not sure of the logic of bringing Fanning out to take long frees either. Ryan still very rusty but got the better of Hetherton in the main. I thought Lawlor battled well, Reck not as strong as last day but still decent. Hearne and Chin were ok. Jacko and Byrne got on a bit of ball when they came in. Hopeless and all as we were, we still butchered two goal chances in the first half. But the basics simply aren't there. Can't be relied upon to bring the required intensity at this level. Skill levels not at the required level either, first touch, hand passes, short stick passes, long deliveries - not good enough. Ref was out of his depth too. He spoke the truth, unfortunately for us Hunting. Going by the results Wexford Park has been a great hunting ground for Dublin for the last 18 years. Have we beaten Dublin in a Championship game since 2007 ?? Since 2008 we had Didn't play them for 8 of them years Dublin won 9 times, 5 in Wexford Park We've had two draws and no Wexford win in the championship. Is that a record or did I miss a year? For nearly two decades, they've had better teams than us. And We were worried about Kilkenny but the real arch-rivals were Dublin. We lost out on Leinster finals where we would have fancied our chances against Kilkenny Especially in 2022, 2023 and 2024. People still think we're better than them for nearly two decades. It's time to take our head out of the sand. Tradition means nothing… Spuds&GAA (Wexford) - Posts: 11 - 09/05/2026 19:42:30 2671843 Link 0 |
