Man who only looks at Munster hurling doesn't understand there are 3 other provinces in Ireland.

And attendance figures for Hurling has held up or increased everywhere…. Football attendance figures are down year on year for the last 10 years… The dogs in the street knows that… and the powers that be certainly know it hence all the rule changes and Championship format change…. Some people just can't handle ( and don't like ) the truth…!!!

That's a fairly good point actually, although am I not entitled read just through to see what attendances at the games are like? Just seemed this was needlessly being thrown off topic. I'll go back to being quite again enjoy today's matches.

Carry on commenting, I'm still sore after yesterday's U20 AI final :) Besides, there's hardly any Tipp voices on here.

Not bad for a sport which apparently doesn't attract many spectators!"
You were well of the mark there… Hardly 30k at it between 4 teams… Dublin /Armagh would attract 60/70k in the past when something was on the line… not much on the line here

Not a fan of the neural venue games. The 8 finalists should have the reward of an extra home game.
Not a great crowd in PuC yesterday. The Munster council need to keep the top 2 Munster counties after the league on opposite sides of the draw. If that results in a Cork v Kerry Munster final in PuC next year, the Munster council might want to follow the example of the Leinster council for their hurling final and possibly give out 10,000 free tickets to u14s.

Hey lad. Any idea of attendances for Hurling matches outside of Munster? Feel free to include 4 games together if you want. Xx

Hurling attendance figures up at all county games regardless of how many… The point is (and you don't like it seemingly ) is that football attendance figures have dropped dramatically for the Championship over the last 10 years… Why on earth do you think the powers that be decided to introduce a raft of new rules ( some absolutely ridiculous ) and also change the Championship format if the crowds weren't staying away… ? Hey lad answer me that and don't be worrying yourself about the hurling…

38,763 Dublin v Armagh
13,072 Cork v Kerry
12,509 Cavan Donegal
10,500 Down Louth

14,455 Kilkenny Tipperary u20 hurling

I think these are very healthy football crowds, sure the Dubs were packing statia 10 years ago and Cork v Kerry was a much bigger draw but there are decent crowds popping up elsewhere. For context Leinster's URC Quarter final drew just 12,700 to the Aviva. That's a whole province and a home Quarter Final, it would make serious headlines if it was the Dubs and a GAA crowd!

I didnt hear any official attendance in the Hyde.
I'd estimate it was c7,500.
Total attendances over the first 2 rounds estimated 180,000.

According to Crokepark. ie the expected attendance was 35/40,000 and they got a little under 40k

I think the crowds will start to drop off again if there are not tweeks made to some of these ridiculous rules…. The groans of discontent from both spectators and management can be clearly heard and people won't put up with paying in to see contests where there is virtually minimal to zero contact…. The novelty factor of the new rules some of which have greatly improved the game will soon ware off unless changes are made and I think despite what the basketball nut from Monaghan says the powers that be will implement changes…
