You are a bluffer. Leinster hurling games attendance on a par with football games in Leinster. Which is weird because you said football attendances are low because it's not as entertaining as hurling. Your argument never holds up. And you seem to have difficulty reading. I have posted many times on here that I was in favour of certain rule changes. I will not be responding to you again. The worst poster on here. Armchair supporter. Never happy.

You won't respond because you know as always that I'm right…. Simple fact… Football was in dire straits with attendance figures dropping through the floor so the powers that be set up the FRC to try and rectify things… Some of the changes are helping but far too many introduced at the same time… Crowds still not that much improved but when you loose the people it's hard to get them back… Why was the FRC set up again Flaker…?

I figured that out a long time ago. Haven't replied to any of his nonsensical postings in years. The lad has never attended a game live. Watches highlights on TV, and repeats what the pundits (with other agendas) spoof on about. Rattles on about attendances at Leinster hurling, likely because the cameras catch the middle of the stands which are normally full. He is like "little Johney", on the left foot when everyone else is on the right foot, but thinks he is on the correct one. If you go onto the Cavan forum you will see that the true Cavan supporters ignore his delusionary comments too. Sitting at home he was last Sunday listening to the radio when Cavan were beating Mayo and then justifying his abscence because of the €20 admission. True knowledgable GAA fans like yourself and myself go watch and support our counties and have the banter no matter where they play. Castlebar being one of my favourite venues. Great atmosphere and good football people.

Another rant from a supposed GAA supporter who prefers basketball ball as a sport compared to hurling..: This guy must surely be the village idiot that nobody pays heed to… a proper nuisance..

Well said, we'll keep putting up the stats on this thread. Numbers usually speak for themselves. Fight it out another thread when ye need to.

Sorry, cant let a lad who doesnt or never has attended games away with talking nonsense. Gaelic football has evolved over the last 140 years and will continue to do so. As someone who has enjoyed it for many years, I am in much more of a position to comment on it than a delusionary lad who wants to compare two totally different sports. Numbers will speaks for themselves and come the end of the year the usual results will come in ie. way more people will have attended the football championships than the hurling championships. I follow many different sports and hurling is just way down my list of favorites. I just dont enjoy it, but to those who do thats your preogative. I am not going to tell you to change this or that so that it appeals to me. Oh and if anyone is keeping count of hurling attendances, dont forget to add in the 51 paying customers that attended the Cavan/ Monaghan Championship game. Wonder if ForeverBlue and Bluer was one of them.

51 diehards so, that love hurling and their county. Just like you love football and Monaghan. A man asked me yesterday about hurling in Mayo. It's not the greatest of standards and it has a small number if clubs but the hurling players, coaches and supporters don't lose interest because they're nit getting to Croke Park as regularly as they used to. There's still a hardcore group of Mayo football supporters to. I wouldn't count myself in either category.

When somebody goes searching for attendance figures for a 5th tier championship game then it just shows they are loosing the argument…. 51 ( probably a made up figure ) looks a lot better than the 40 who paid in to see a 2nd tier championship game in Longford last year… A little over 1k went to Downs last championship game in the Sam Maguire and the massive Mayo support seems to have dwindled away as well .. Terrible football for years and a ridiculous Championship format has drove thousands away from the games… The new rules ( some of them ) and a new format for the Championship might breath new life into an ailing football championship even though a certain clown from Monaghan said neither would happen….and his delusions continue.. poor fellow ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3994 - 23/05/2025 18:19:14 2611959 Link 1 |
Not disputing anything you say. Just pointing out that you are not going to get Cork/Limerick crowds at all hurling games, in the same way as we cant expect Armagh/Donegal or Meath /Louth crowds at all football games. I have the height of respect for all coaches and players who plod away at what are minority sports in their area. We have a deluded lad that comes on here posting about crowds at hurling games like every county grounds is bursting at the seams for hurling games. He doesn't get the message that 90% of posters on here and on other forums disagree with every post that he makes on the various subjects that he obviously hasnt got a clue about.

8.5k mentioned on radio for Dublin v Galway. I'd estimate 6k in Navan and 10k in Newbridge? Seanfanbocht (Roscommon) - Posts: 2366 - 26/05/2025 11:15:06 2612668 Link 1 |
Typical GAA. Just read . No tickets on public sale for Munster Hurling final. So fans from both Limerick and Cork an neutrals will not get to see the game. Playing a game that would attract 60k in a 40k stadium on the Saturday. Then on the Sunday Playing a game that will attract 25k , if they are lucky in a stadium that holds over 80k. These fixtures should be reversed. GAA just don't care about the fans , they are stuck in their same old routine. Madness. Hence why I don't go to games any more.
