Is he gone ?
I didn't see his name on squad and thought maybe he was injured.

Going stateside. Brooks out long term. Not ideal.

Sobering result. Dont have depth to deal with injuries yet.

Delighted for Westmeath today. Better team against us.

Hard luck to the lads. Hopefully they can regroup and give the TC a good lash.

Kinda what I feared today unfortunately.

With the absentees and the injuries I really feared for us going up against a really good Louth side.

We just don't have the depth in the squad yet to cope with those losses but we have the young fellas coming through hopefully to help with that.

Louth are a very good side, strong and physical throughout the pitch and their shooting today was top notch, will be surprised if they dont do back to back leinsters which will be some achievement, theyre a better team than Dublin.

For us, regroup, try and clear up those few injuries and give the TC a rattle

Fair play to young Gaul it would of been a 30 point defeat today. He pulled off some fantastic saves

Yes, fair play to the young man, thrown in at the deep end against ( currently) the best team in Leinster, and aquiting himself really well in general play.
But we really missed Brooks on the kick-out. The second quarter cost us dearly when we went from level to nine down in 15 minutes. During that spell we couldn't win our kick-out, and I feel Brooks experience in varying it would have made a difference.

i would not worry to much about the result, it was going to be hard get the minds up for another big game so soon after the league final, to me the leinster c ship does not matter to wexford, we are not going to win it, its a risk of players getting injuries for the TC which is our most important competition, along with the league, its best out of the way

Replying To countyman2022:  "Would not put any pass on him- This Louth team were lucky to win a Leinster final against Meath, soft goals they got in first half and literally played keep ball for the last 6 mins. Did not win a game in All Ireland series. V overrated."
Were u at the game very poor wexford crowd least they got to watch a overrated louth team.didnt even have to take on our 2024 all star

I would expect Louth to win Leinster now, although
McHugh seems to have Westmeath going well. But Louth are building well over the past few years.

Abject performance yesterday. We were outthought, outfought, outplayed .
We started the game well but the wheels soon fell off the wagon.
Louth were simply superior throughout the game.
They destroyed us at centrefield. Hughes and Coleman were never able to compete with a dominant Louth 8 and 9.
Where was the Wexford that done so well in the league?
This was a total mismatch and this horror show will but a severe dent in our confidence going forward.
The solution is to put this game out of their minds.
Of course that won't be easy but looking back won't do any good.
The Tailteen Cup will give the lads an opportunity to regain respectability.
Three week break

Think the lads have plenty of respectability as it is. Not many counties have achieved double promotions, and ours was all the more impressive considering the lads who missed all or most of the League campaign.
Aside from Pettit, O'Connor, Brosnan and Lyons the last 2 of which only came came back today for cameos, we were missing Sean Nolan, Dara Brooks, and Jack Higgins who were regular starters this year. And Sheehan and Ryan, 2 of our better players the last 2 days, were withdrawn at halftime. Eoghan Nolan and Sean Doyle werent fully fit either, both were touch and go to play at all.
Thats over 3/4s of a starting team missing, or just barely making it. Maybe you werent aware of all that, but if so you shouldn't be posting nonsense about the lads losing respectability. Were you there yourself?

Well said Viking, it's been a brilliant year so far for these lads.
With the number of absentees yesterday, it was always going to be a big ask. I certainly wouldn't be critical of any players or management, but unfortunately some will only see the result and will ignore the circumstances around that result.

Has been a great year so far for footballers yes disappointing result .
We at start of year said if they stay up would be a good year and decent run in tailteann . And yet here we are aftrr promotion and a league final a kick away from winning it and promotion to Sam .
We are a fickle bunch I say well done to them putvtgst behind them znd kick on . Even if they dont get food run it has still been a good year for outer footballers
We took westmeath albeit a smash and grab who now have taken meath one of favourites for leinster .
Question if westmeath reach leinster final do they replace down in sam .
