Its all done for reasons of easing wounded pride for some of the former elite who couldn't countenance relegation!

True story ...

Absolutely. And then they'd say it's only the League. The last AI we won we hurled in div2. And it was called div2. As it should be now.

RTE showing two one sided games. Kilkenny hammering Wexford and Galway will do similar to Clare later.

Wil Galway hammer Clare??. If they do Wil it really matter. The Banner will still be reigning All Ireland Champions this evening.

We couldn't have been any worse than that 1st half. Very young team in the 2nd half, average age of the outfield players between 21 and 22 by the end.

Offaly lads well able to dish out but fall like a bag of spuds tackled. Antrim poor getting very little from referee where he can't wait to give ofaly the free.

Pathetic again by Antrm. Nothing ever changes. They are physically and mentally brittle away from home. It's no good bringing in outside managers and that's nothing against Davy Fitz or anyone else from another county. Change must come from within.

McManus was laughing at Dublin this time last year.

Expert now on hurling. Who he is he? Expert on what?

From the current league positions Down and Meath would be taking on Clare and Wexford in 1B next year. London and Wicklow would be taking on Westmeath and Laois in Division 2. Long way to go yet. After years of very little movement between divisions, more counties will be getting the toughest games in a long long time.

That's the way it should have been the last 20 years. It's the way it was in the 90s.

Agreed. The glass ceiling protection went way over the top for a few years. Lower league winners and lower championship tier winners having to enter a promotion/relegation playoff took the biscuit.

Promoting the game needs more than just a catchy phrase or 2. The current League structure should definitely help.

I think it is a good system and hopefully they will stick with it.

Promotion ought to be difficult to attain as there is a large gulf in class. Dublin did very poorly last year and were deservedly relegated, Probably a timely one as being in the weaker section has allowed Ó Ceallacháin the scope to put out experimental teams with a good sprinkling of new lads.

That would be recipe for multiple hidings most likely in the top tier. Which does not really teach you anything and I for one never found them to be other than demoralising when at the end of one! No point in inflicting that on likes of Down or Meath or whoever comes up from the third tier. Current 1b is a nice mix. A couple of hidings perhaps but a chance to stay up against the weaker sides.

It was the oddest game I've seen in a good while.
London scored first and the team traded points to 0-4 0-4. Then a few minutes later Cavan were 0-4 to 0-10 up!
A few points each, and a Cavan goal just before the break made it 0-7 to 1-10.
London shot 12 wides during the first half, on a day that was breezy at worst.
Second half London found their range and chipped away, chipped away, got within a goal, drew level, took the lead, got some daylight ahead, and finally scored a goal with practically the last puck of the game.
And Cavan never scored a point in the half!
The pitch didn't help the state of the game, but that's the same for both teams and London seemed more confused by it than the visitors, regularly over running through balls etc. One sent off for each team mid-way through the second half for a goal mouth set to (probably needed to be the same sanction for both players, but you've seen worse get two yellows), and another Cavan player off 5 minutes from time.
