I think it's essential and I'm presuming highly likely. Otherwise having coaches engaging on podcasts talking about how the players etc didn't do that and should have done this wasn't a very clever idea and if I was one of the players something I'd be rather annoyed about. tearintom (Wexford) - Posts: 1534 - 09/07/2025 17:46:46 2624692 Link 0 |
We do need to freshen things up. There were elements of our play this year that were totally unacceptable in my view.

Me too. I thought it was poor form tbh

Yes my son told me about this and had to listen, I heard about Des Mythen before I even moved to Wexford and what a prospect he was. Did he hurl for Wexford for 1-2-3 years himself and then quit? ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1433 - 12/07/2025 17:57:22 2625103 Link 0 |
Freshen up...? Complete rebuild more like.

Did he hurl for Colm Bonner? He scored a goal in 05 v Kilkenny? Don't know what he did after that.

He struggled with reoccurring injuries over the space of years so he probably never got a long unbroken run at it. He played senior for Oulart after that I'm sure. He's a coach for Keith Rossiter with Wexford now.

That's a fair return from one u20 team to be fair

Tom Mulally is leaving Carlow isn't he? He's a top manager. If Keith leaves I'd give Mulally a.few years.

We are already in a complete rebuild the last 2 years if you haven't noticed. 10 or so new or newer championship starters.

We're already rebuilding. What I meant is if Rossi stays on he needs to shake up his backroom team big time Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3836 - 13/07/2025 22:29:08 2625433 Link 0 |
Savage under 21 player. Great goal vs Kilkenny in the 05 Leinster final. First 20 minutes of his first senior final. Did very little after that. Did have a good club career but nothing else with the county. I don't think he was involved at all from 06-08 . Might have had a cameo in Bonnar's time. Agree lad. Keith and management are trying lads. I'd do something similar with the u20 2023 crop to see how we are doing on integrating some of them. logger (Wexford) - Posts: 305 - 14/07/2025 07:17:47 2625481 Link 0 |
Yes the post you answered said we need to freshen up. You said we need a complete rebuild. We have only started the re build we are on, so I'm not sure how we can need to rebuild again already. That's all.

We already have Conor Foley, Darragh Carley, Corey Byrne Dunbar, Cian Byrne, Jack Redmond, Simon Roche, Sean Rowley, Oisin Pepper and Cillian Byrne play Senior already off the 2023 team that lost to Offaly, while Michael Dundon, Dara Kehoe, Eoin Whelan and Derry Mahon have been on the panel. Dara Farrell was injured but might get on it too. Not sure about Seamie O Hagan. Don't think anyone's getting left behind who really wants to hurl Senior off that team in fairness to Keith.

There's only really Mahon, Whelan, Kehoe and dundon that haven't really played seniors although they've been involved in panels. I would hope they can push on and get a bit of luck this year. 1b should be good for them and there's a goalkeeper and 3 good young defenders in that. Simon Roche and Jack Redmond are both looking good. I think O'Hagan has a bit of star quality about him so hopefully he'll be there too. Would like to see Conal Clancy involved again as well. He has a lot of attributes we're missing at the moment. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3836 - 14/07/2025 09:29:34 2625507 Link 0 |
