Replying To oneoff:  "Maybe they were. Just odd for such a proud Dublin GAA man to publicly back a team playing against a Dublin team."
Just stating a fact that Erirgal were favourites and felt they would have too much for Cuala, but like the bookies I was wrong.

Bizarre first half, think the Dr Crokes game obviously took it out of them, but it was a good comeback, damage done from the 1st half though, no one saw that sort of 1st half result

I also said, it would take Cualas best performance to date and for Errigal to have an off day for Cuala to win

Pretty much what happened

Hopefully the bookies lost some money

The odds were extremely close beforehand, think is 4/5 versus evens. Funnily enough, both teams had the upper hand completely in one half each.
Errigal will be bemoaning a few of the goals which came straight down the middle with barely a proper tackle made. It left them with too much to do ultimately, but they gave it right shot.
It's mad how momentum can change so drastically over the course of a game.

Mad first half, do you think they were a bit off the pace considering the tough game against Dr Crokes, I thought that may have been ideal but I guess it was only a week turnaround, as you said Cuala did get through fairly handy.
Almost a great comeback but damage done early in the game

Close but Errigal were favs.

Interesting because this is what you actually said.

"I think Errigal will win, and do so in a somewhat convincing manner."

No mention of the bookies anywhere....

See below.

Replying To sligo joe: "Errigal definitely favourites, brilliant display today almost undone today, especially in normal time by unbalanced referee, Mack Hansen should make a statement on behalf of Errigal LOL,"

Replying to Sligojoe on the 12th Jan.

I'm pretty sure the bookies will have them as favourites alright, sort of a no brainer.

Getting through Crokes like that, battled hardened

Cuala will need to find their best performance of the year and hope Errigal have a bad day in my book.

Give the man a break! I fancied Errigal on basis of tougher run.

Delighted Cuala won obviously and credit to both for nail biting entrrtaining final.

Not to worry Barney, cheers

I posted up above backing up everything I said, before a ball was kicked on the 12th Jan to Sligojoe, its all there in black and white

I quite clearly did mention Errigal beings favs with the bookies, which they indeed were, and I did state that Cuala would need to find their best performance to date and Errigal to have an off day for Cuala to win, which both certainly did in opposite regard across the first half, where Cuala really won the game.

No one saw that first half coming.. I wonder were Errigal a bit worn out after the Dr Crokes game, All credit to Cuala though, they were clinical in the first half when they on top.

And what ls the well worn saying... goals win games.

So you did.

Still doesn't explain why you felt the need to back a team playing against one from Dublin? Also you said you didn't care who won yet now you're celebrating it. Why's that? Then again you've been doing that quite a bit in recent years. Again why's that?
