Here comes Galway round 4 in 2 weeks, they should have beaten Tipp by 10. We're down our best hurler, down the best defender in the country in the last 15 years, star players off form and now our 4 time AI winning captain is gone, Clare should have won Munster final by 10 points and we were lucky to beat Cork but Galway people make us 'red hot favourites', it all doesn't add up.

No luck involved, they have dug out the wins and found a way to win. Not all off form, gillane is in fantastic form as is Dan morrrisey and dod and wod. Reidy was outstanding in the Munster final and cathal o neill had been very good.

Let Galway say what they want, they will rightly fancy their chances against us. I said in this forum a few months back that most Limerick people see them as the biggest threat and I think that still stands. They are a power house team.

Would have been nice to be able to stick Sean Finn on whelan but I think they'll still be confident with whatever team they put out. I personally hope Kyle Hayes doesn't fill in for Hannon, I think we'll lose too much attack wise if he sits and teams can push up more on us.

Best defender in the country in the last 15 years. Not in the top 10.

Limerick have won four out of the last five All Irelands including three in a row. That might be why people make them favourites.

All the bookies, also make Limerick red hot favourites. Maybe arithmetic is not one of your strongest points.

Was that not your Center Backs last hurling game for Cork. He is embarking on a Rugby career. BTW, he should have put against Limerick as well, but not a word about that course, only keep bringing up incidents involving LK Players that took place months ago.

Tell us who are the 10. Or are you just like a few Tipp Contributors on here and indeed a few of their recent Managers, who were tipping Tip to do great things this year. Sean Finn may not be the best Defender of the past fifteen years, but to say he is outside the Top ten in that period is pure nonsense.

Maybe if you listened to Galway people in the media immediately making us red hot favourites as if their own team can't handle being favourites or even in with a chance. I don't look at the bookies odds or bet- mugs game but we're all different.

Could you please name the 10 better than Finn, JJ who else?

I assume you are joking on this but if you are not would love to hear why you think this, ask Jackie tyrrell or JJ Delaney how they would rate him. Forget about naming 10 better, name two better over the last 6 years. Plenty have a good season here and there. I don't think anyone comes close season in season out.

No problem with us being favourites.. It's all part of the Shadow boxing before a game like this.
It's well deserved and even missing Finn and Hannon I expect us to win.
We're the Best team in the country for the last few years and if we click against Galway we'll beat them by 3 or 4.
That said wouldn't be too surprising if they win. Fine team with some great players.

Yes it is nonsense to say he is not in top 10 , but I think it is also nonsense to say he is the best defender for the last 15 years

Ben O' Connor was the under 20 center back, and headed for Munster rugby. Not bad for a 19 year old, but by all accounts is a superb athlete, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is very successful at the oval ball game. Shane Kingston is the under 20 full back, escaped the red card against Offaly but a fine hurler, and wouldn't be surprised to see him make the transition up to senior level in time. The head high tackle followed by elbow has become prevalent in recent years, and should be stamped out by stricter refereeing!

Hard to say better as such as its subjective but least as good, and important to their team, as Finn, who played in the last 15 years-
JJ, Jackie Tyrell, Tommy Walsh, Brick Walsh, Paudie Maher, Cathal Barrett, Declan Hannon, Barry Nash, Diarmuid Byrnes, Daithi Burke. Granted the 2 Walshes were good in other lines too!

All I am saying is he is not the best defender in the last 15 years.

That's a very wide band. Who was the best corner back over the past 7 years season in season out?
Things get complicated when you compare half back lines to full back lines and span two generations of players.

To be honest I couldn't care less where people see Sean Finn, best, top 10, not in the top 10. The main thing is that Sean Finn pulls on the Green & White and does the job he does for us.

He's a class act.

Yes finn is a class act but we we talking about hannon being the best defender in the last 15 years.

Of course it is subjective with the number of good players we have seen and also their position. Noel Connors and others would be up there always positioned at corner back. Finn is great player by any standards in today's game and no team would refuse to take him if he could transfer.

Or maybe they're making Limerick hot favourites because they ARE hot favourites for the game. Limerick are 3-in-a-row All-Ireland champions. It'd be unusual if any pundit from Galway or otherwise didn't have them as favourites for the semi-final.
