Replying To Seanfanbocht:  "Is there a Q for Co Board positions?"
The GAA's Offical guide recomments the following sub committees (to spread the burden of work)
(I) Management Committee
(ii) Competitions Control Committee
(iii) Fixtures Analysts
(iv) Hearings Committee
(v) Planning, Physical Development and Safety
Committee
(vi) Referees' Administration Committee
(vii) Coaching and Games Development Committee
(viii) Cultural Committee
(ix) Public Relations/Marketing Committee
(x) Youth Committee
(xi) Finance Sub-Committee
(xii) Information Technology Committee
(xiii) County Teams Management and Panels Sub-Committee.
(xiv) Health and Well-Being Committee

A County Committee shall consist of the Officers, the Central and Provincial Council Representatives (who shall be ex-officio members), other representatives of District or other Committees or Clubs as set out in the County Bye-laws, the County Referees' Administrator and a representative of each of the following Committees: County GAA Handball (where applicable), County Primary Schools, County Post-Primary Schools.

Mayo County Board is broadly in line with old fashioned GAA committee's -
(I) Management Committee - Chairperson , Vice Chairperson , Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer,

Central and Provincial Council Representatives - Central Council Delegate, Connacht Council Delegate X 2
Representatives of Districts - East Board Chairperson, North Board Chairman, South Board Chairman, West Board Chairman

Reps of Hurling and primary schools committees: - Hurling Board Chairman, Bord na nOg Chairman

Reps from other recommended committees:
(ix) Public Relations/Marketing Committee - PRO
(x) Youth Committee - Children's Officer
(viii) Cultural Committee - Cultural Officer
(v) Planning, Physical Development and Safety Committee - Planning & Training Officer &
(vii) Coaching and Games Development Committee - Coaching Officer
(xiv) Health and Well-Being Committee - Health and Wellbeing Officer

They then have three rogue positions, not recommended by the official guide
1. County Safety and Facilities Officer - considering the counties only facilities are at Mchale park (no center of excellence), it hardly a busy role unless he is doing the actual maintenance.
2. Insurance Officer - hardly a busy job - really a assistant secretary's role
3. Uachtaran - a ceremonial role

They don't have representatives from the below, despite the role of Referees Administrator being mandatory

(ii) Competitions Control Committee
(iii) Fixtures Analysts
(iv) Hearings Committee
(vi) Referees' Administration Committee
(xi) Finance Sub-Committee
(xii) Information Technology Committee
(xiii) County Teams Management and Panels Sub-Committee.

Even if you wanted a total clear out, you would need to get all the district boards, school boards etc on board. Which just wont happen.

By and large, Mayo County board follow the GAA offical guide, with less roles than those recommended.
THe place to start is the official guide and changing the recommendations there.

Nice to see that the Mayo CB have apologised for the tone of their previous announcement.

"The manner and tone of the original communication didn't adequately reflect the deep respect and appreciation we hold for Kevin. For this, we offer our heartfelt apologies."

On a side note, I see the Mayo CB have been informed that the county's Under 20, Under 19 development squad, and Under 17 football managers have All decided to step down.
Mayo looking to appoint 4 new football management teams over the coming weeks.

Busy few weeks ahead for many County Boards though, not just Mayo.
