I am anxious to know how many counties out of 32 in the country have an active supporters club in operation, also does the annual subscription vary from county to county.

Response would be appreciated, however it's very much voluntary. Many Thanks.

Ya we have the Kerry supporter's club, well we had pre pandemic anyway, they're a great bunch that travel come hell or high water, I don't travel with them as I hate travelling in busses but they're a great bunch and they have a social every Christmas.

Thanks a lot KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) for your reply much appreciated, can I ask in your opinion, does all counties that have an active supporters club be guided by the same set of rules and therefore the finance committee decide how the annual subscription is released and spent, or is every county an isolated case.?

Oh I'm sorry I don't know that, Roscommon have a serious supporters club, as do Mayo but I would think that theyd all make their own rules and their own prices.

I'd say a lot of those clubs would have been inactive since Covid but that might all change now what with the lifting of restrictions, although saying that I was at the McGrath Cup final yesterday and the there was no announcement of buses heading to Kildare next week.

I'm not a member just because I want to "get" something. I look on it as supporting the county in a small financial way.

20 euros per person a year for membership to the supporters club of two multi all Ireland winning counties in both codes is at a giveaway price, I am anxious to know is this the norm, surely there must be some counties whose finances are not as healthy as Kilkenny and Kerry and might see it as a chance to charge a little extra to help to sponsor some worthwhile project or other.

It will be a sorry day when the GAA decide its acceptable to charge supporters to meet with players. It's a wonderful piece of marketing from rugby to be able sell something like that as a benefit of paying to be a member of the supporters club.

Yes, but you need to pay to become a supporter, otherwise you can't queue to meet the players.
