Well done on the win but have a feeling we'll be playing each other next season also.

Ok when we play profile teams like, Dubs, Kerry & Mayo, they will get coverage. When was the last time Monaghan v an Ulster team was shown live in NFL ?.... " a sure it's only wee Monaghan" attitudes.. grrrrr!"

This is the 3rd round of the NFL. Monaghan v Armagh, in the 1st round, was shown live 3 weeks ago.
But, you carry on wallowing in your imaginary 'wee Monaghan' inferiority complex.

Fair play for posting that cos I didn't know GAAgo were showing live/playback of League games. Fermanagh v Down there and they're showing Kildare v Derry next Sunday. You'll be happier with a win though and no game on telly rather than the opposite.

A right few boyos on here are slow to comment on a great performance, after being so quick to jump on Vinnys neck after the Kerry game..

Totally agree. Its a quiet forum after a win whereas after a defeat everyone is sitting wait for replies.

Great second half display yesterday. Long over due but good to see. Few older heads back to settle the ship. Jones and McManus great off the bench offering 1-4. D Hughes was brilliant also. These older fellas will bring on the younger lads with them which is a great help.

Looking forward now to next week in Clones. Should be out in our droves to support the lads and management. Roscommon getting a result yesterday against Armagh was a help. They are on 6 points now so would imagine they would be safe. Monaghan need another big performance and see how they stand against a team that has won 3/3

Excatly. I thought the support was excellent yesterday , let's hope we have even bigger crowd next week. I don't like people on here slating platers especially young lads, all have to learn and start somewhere.

Excellent result yesterday and one I fully expected given Donegal are a team on a major decline… They look far from a united bunch.. We just need to find a way to get 2 home wins against tyrone & Roscommon which will be a step up on yesterday.. Lot of positives yesterday, boyle hughes & wylie were very good at the back, midfield still a major worry, up front o hanlon was again very lively, Gallagher showed some promise, scotstown's new recruit was always a treat and gives a great outlet.. Good return from the bench is well. Personally I still think going Div 2 will do this team absolutely no harm in the long run during our transition period..

Great result - D Hughes massive influence on the team and we racked up some scoring tally in that 2nd half - good for the confidence for sure heading into a tough game against the unbeaten league leaders.

And I see the bias towards Monaghan continues with the game up frisr on league Sunday last night, followed by decent analysis.

Now, if there was a bias AGAINST Monaghan evidenced, we might have to worry.

There's not point in naming names cause then I'd get slated. Just saying a few players are still struggling but the win was the major result that was needed. More of the same nxt Sun

That 2nd half performance from Monaghan was as good as I've seen in a couple of years. The movement and shooting was brilliant. The right option taken, the shots all on target. It was brilliant to see. Really looking forward to the Roscommon game now. I reckon we can end their unbeaten run if we reach that level of performance again. Well done to Vinny and the boys.

Have to agree with you.
If you name them you get slated, and if you don't, you seem to get asked why are you not naming them. Hard to win there .
There was one player that I don't k ow how vinny looked at for the whole game, the only reason I can think of is that it's getting the minutes into him for later in the year.

Was a great win with few brilliant performances such as Hughes, O'Hanlon, and Boyle. They were outstanding. It's great having Jones and McManus coming if the bench with great affect.
Taught Ward and Brannigan were in great form, too.

Hopefully, we push on next week and put in a good performance against the in form team in the league and get momentum going.
Well done all

Have to say Gary Mohan was brilliant too in an understated way, he got through a ferocious amount of dirty work. Took his man out of the game and twinned with Hughes in the middle they took away the Donegal keepers release valve with the long kick out to the big men, and it put Donegal under massive pressure in the second half. The subs coming on were fantastic too which has long been something Monaghan have struggled with.
Vinny seems to have taken the shackles off somewhat with the forwards too, lots of shots taken and even though some were unwise there was never a grilling from the sideline to the shooter or a man getting hooked for one error. Management like that will really help the young lads build confidence and grow into the county scene.

Jesus we win and people on here are trying to hound individual players or management.

On yesterday's performance I thought the backs were very solid with a special to McPhillips who done a great job on Jamie Brennan.
Darren was immense and is a defying all the miles on the clock. Strong determined and willing to put his body on the line.

The midfield was a lot better yesterday with Gary Mohan's size and presence making us far more competitive in that sector.

Bannigan and O'Hanlons hard direct running caused Donegal all sort of problems. Gallagher impressed for the second game in a row, and will get better the more minutes he plays at this level. Carey put into a solid shift and his work rate was top notch. McCarthy suffered a little from change of position from the Kerry game. McCarthy was impressive in Killarney when on the receiving end of quick ball into the full forward line. Jack was a massive addition kicked a couple of great scores from play ( only critism was him kicking a scoreable free backwards in the first half instead of waiting for Rory to come up.

McManus and Jones really helped the push for home in the last 15 minutes.
Great to see Mulligan get a few minutes also.

Plenty of positives and no reason why we can't get more points against Roscommon.
