Go and have a look at there most recent program on monaghan twitter. 31 players named at least 27/28 of those were togged out.

Previously one genius manager decided not to play any of his 6th year students in the McRory cup in order to develop the 5th years.. unsurprisingly this didn't go well and both year groups were unhappy. Then the next year the supposedly developed 6th years got annihilate so the whole episode was for naught.
As a program the sems development system has been in bad shape for a long time as evidence by their lack of success. Seems that beech hill and the Irish school is where it's at for young north Monaghan footballers now."

Magheracloone, Donaghmoyne and Monaghan harps would all have similar numbers from u6-u16 but scotstown have good retention rates based on their splitting of teams based on age and not ability to give all players football and in result keep more lads playing football for longer. Few teams this year have 2 minor teams so a lot of it comes down to keeping their players playing longer and not trying to win every underage competition.. I would imagine if you check the last 15 years of u12,14 and 16 div 1 winners the roll of honour would be Donaghmoyne, magheracloone Blayney… equal playing numbers as scotstown but unable to retain the players as focus on winning"
Veteran, if you keep telling the same lies all the time you'll believe them yourself.
This has been explained to you about 2 months ago, that the rise and fall of number playing underage is due to population trends after the collapse of the Celtic Tiger, nothing to do with Scotstown being able to retain players.
And on the topic of population, a quick Google search will show you that Tedavnet parish has a population of 11,500 whilst the population of Magheracloone parish has a population of approximately 2,000. Donaghmoyne parish has 2,700 but is divided with Toome and to a lesser extent Blackhill.

So you think other clubs at u14 level have their div 1 teams based on age? All players born in a certain year are playing for the div 1 team? I would say most clubs divide their players on ability.. best players at u14 play div 1.. rest play div 4.. an and b team. Scotstown did that for years until about 10 years ago.
