Replying To jobber:  "Are you for real.Name me 1 hurling club that doesn't have footballers. How many football clubs don't have hurlers?
Delvin is a dual club as are Raharney-Killucan ,Castletown-Malachys,Brownstown-St Pauls in all but name.
Is all of Westmeath north of Mullingar a small pocket."
Thanks for clarifying that there is, in fact, only one dual club in the entire county, in Delvin. Raharney, Killucan, Castletown Geoghegan, St Malachy's, Brownstown and St Paul's are, in fact, single code clubs. I recognise that these clubs you listed in the small pockets have players who play another code with another club. There is a small amount of players playing both in comparison to players solely playing football I can tell you that much. Temple already mentioned that Castledaly, Moate, Tubberclair and Caulry all have no hurlers. Athlone and Garrycastle, you could count on one hand the number of hurlers within their squads combined. Temple listed off nearly as many football clubs as there is altogether in hurling that have hardly any hurlers. I doubt St Loman's and Kinnegad have many hurlers either. But yet the county board are suggesting to change the football structures to 'protect the dual players'. There wouldn't be anyone from these clubs Jobber has falsely listed as dual clubs on the committee?

Replying To Darragh:  "Well done to Bal but that does not mean any club should be hit with a fine. Apples and oranges comparing clubs in Westmeath and they were allocated different amounts too."
The clubs absolutely shouldn't be sanctioned unless they've sold zero or something. The county board have run this thing badly on a number of fronts. One of the big issues is online sales can't be attributed to a club which means the clubs won't share the link in a lot of cases! Zero sales is completely unacceptable but sanctioning a club who sold maybe 70 tickets would be poor form in my opionion

Replying To Claretandblue:  "We're not a dual county? On what basis can you justify such a statement? In my own hurling club across under 14s, 16s and minors, approx 80% of the players also play football. The football and hurling clubs may be separate clubs but that's not relevant. The Downs have loads of players who play with Clonkill and Turin. There are more football clubs than hurling, 31-16 is the ratio but to dismiss the hundreds of players who play hurling is out of touch."
Let's say you are a club member of rural clubs like Turin, Clonkill, Crookedwood or Cullion. All are part of Turin/Taughmon parish, all knocking on the same doors. How does that work? Or Raharney/Killucan? Or Shamrocks/Lomans/Plunketts?? Not everyone will sell all tickets in situations like that??

I suggest you change your name to Iarmhi peil abu.Ihave never heard such self centred nonsense in all my life.I think the Loughlin family hurling people to the core wouldnt be too pleased to know that such ignorant bias exists in the south. It makes me understand why we must ensure all structures remain firmly in Mullingar
