Replying To WmeathWarrior:  "Agree with this, as it was men versus boys as the game went on. Milltown did well in the first half just like the first day; can be proud of the progress and levels they have reached this year and win it next year. Garrycastle dominated the game and looked like a proper senior outfit. Some great performances with Eoin Mulvihill showing to be a very composed footballer. McGowan, Donnegan and Mannion did make a massive impact. Leinster run is on the cards."
Maybe I was at a different match but couldn't see this massive impact by Cathal Mannion and Rory McGowan. McGowan went on at midfield and fouled twice within a minute before he was moved to centre forward as he was likely to be booked, he won a bit of possession in that role and used it sensibly, Cathal Mannion came on during injury time!!! Garrycastle were the dominant side when both introduced.

Surprised they didn't run Harte, Mc Gowan,Henegahan and Gaffey all over 40, only players between the ages of 20>30 on the bench was Donegan, Mannion and sub goalie, might be a challenge to stay in Senior with that age profile

I'd agree in principal that our standard is better than Longford.... but then there's exceptions... Mullinalaghta?!
If you think Garrycastles blue rinse Brigade are heading for a run in Leinster.... you should write to Santy...
Garrycastle won't win 1 senior championship match in 2025 unless they have a phenomenal minor team we never heard tell off that are ready to take over!!!

Yes westmeath is better but bit disrespectful say rubbish some years we have good teams yes wedtmeath generally better though. But We had Mulinalaghta a strong small parish team that won leinster something which lomans haven't done.

GArrycastle if interested could do well in leinster but have to be up for it in fairness

Interesting prediction!! You think they won't win one match against Tang, Caulry, Malachy's, Killucan or Moate? Long term Garrycastle will need a good crop of their decent minors to become decent adult players as the McCallons, James Dolan, John Gaffey, Rory McGowan and Ger Heneghan will struggle at senior level from 2026 but they've one of the two managers in the county to win a senior championship and experienced players. Keeping their senior status in the next two years is well within their capabilities.

Time will tell... but I can't see it! The senior games this year were very decent standard... even the weaker seniors like Moate... Tang... etc.... if Garrycastle bring the game style and intensity of this year's intermediate championship they'll get ate alive. But... true... maybe the bit of cleverness and experience will stand to them... and that they have in abundance.

Foolish comments again, you must've lost money on Milltown to win, explaining your feeling of resentment towards Garrycastle. Garrycastle could get a run in Leinster, I don't know who they play but they would probably be our strongest intermediate champions since Rosemount?? Garrycastle could possibly be favourites in all 5 matches in the senior B next year. On Mullinalaghta, they done tremendously well to win a Leinster title, nobody can take that away from them. It was a flash in the pan though, the following year Garrycastle thumped Killoe. It was St Loman's turn to smash up Killoe last year, can anyone remind us of the score?? In fact, I don't think the Longford senior champions have won a game in Leinster since Mullinalaghta in 2018. The record of Longford teams in the Leinster intermediate is absolutely brutal, probably the worst of any county.

I stand by what I said, the standard of the Longford intermediate championship is rubbish compared to other counties.

Ah no... I'm not anti Garrycastle... they've been great ambassadors. They play the carlow champs... Longford champs play Laois. I can't imagine carlow intermediate is a fantastic standard so who knows... maybe they'll surprise me. But they're going no where heading for senior with what I seen playing Milltown the first day. With all due respect... milltown are a top junior outfit/middle of the road intermediate club who are having a purple patch at the moment. It's definitely a major rebuild project for Garrycastle... Comes to all clubs.... I wouldn't get too upset! Hopefully they do go on and represent the county well.

You're not anti Garrycastle but you definitely seem to be anti Milltown now!!! A side reaches the intermediate final having finished in top two of Section A, unbeaten in six championship matches and draws final before losing replay and they are described as a top junior side. Insulting to Milltown. They also have quite a few strong young players with Millmore who are eligible to play adult football in 2025.

Loughleneking you're playing down the intermediate championship, tubberclaire beating Garrycastle losing to multi who then got bet by over 15 to the castle represents that… great championship all round Shandonagh wont strike fear into anyone next year …Final day 1 weather poor game all round, yesterday castle showed class in ball movement in second half, Guiheen, mulvihill ,Monaghans immense .. boys talk about age in club football especially Gcastle..these boys are role models with umpteen medals in pocket .underestimate Gcastle at your peril in 2025, too good of footballers to not of learned from past mistakes. Quarter final Minimum

Garrycastle have always represented the county proudly only Westmeath club to win a Leinster
Senior Football title and play in an All Ireland Senior Final after all, Fenagh are the Carlow Intermediate
Champions same as Garrycastle relagated to Intermediate last year and now have come straight back
have been a strong Senior team in the past so no easy game by any means

Quarter final would be very good for them. Didn't see anything of them this year but based on last year, they are an aging team who may struggle with the physical nature of senior football.
Let's hope they give Leinster a good go. Would be great to see them win another provincial title

If you compare Garrycastle team that played against Tang the day they got relegated last year to the team that lined out on Monday only 8 players started both games. They had no Andrew Monaghan, Michael Monaghan, Jason Nugent or Conor Cosgrove in last years championship. Also from my memory they struggled with injuries last year big time with their two county players James Dolan and Eoin Mulvhill hardly playing and Eoin Monagahn and Matthew Guiheen also missed large amount of the season.

If you look at the match report below you can see their team that played that day.

Also Justin Barrett and Alex Gardiner, take top Centre field and top forward out of any
team along with all the names you mentioned what team would not struggle

Alex Gardiner has been a big loss also, not sure what his future plans are but if he were to come home from Canada he would be a massive addition. Garrycastle won back to back Minor championships this year after a few lean years with Maryland & Tang .
