Replying To WanPintWin:  "Clifford is the best scorer by a mile, but O'Donoghue does a lot more than score. His influence on Mayo is massive. He's one of the best tacklers as a forward, and this was crucial to Mayo's success. He also drops deep and carries the ball, which he's brilliant at, taking huge pressure off the team, linking play and creating chances. For the style of game Mayo play, they wouldn't have won the All-Ireland without O'Donoghue.
Clifford is the best forward I've ever seen, but he doesn't tackle, and he doesn't carry the ball from defence to attack. Nor should he have to. Leave him to do what he's best at. No point wasting him doing things he mightn't be suited to.
However, there's a lot more to a player's game and how it impacts the team than scoring. Trevor Giles wasn't a prolific scorer, but he was brilliant at tackling, winning breaking ball, passing and creating chances. That's what won him his player of the year awards. He chipped in with scores too, as does Ryan O'Donoghue to an even greater degree."
