Great to see and they outnumber the footballers this year but surely Bugler deserved a nomination too for the footballers.

Fianna v Cuala
Lucan v Brigids
Crokes v Barrog
Vinnies v Boden.

I think we could have 2 crackers, and 2 one sided games.

Na Fianna v Cuala in the 1/4 Final - wow...
This could be a hell of a game...."
Dublin SHC Relegation Playoffs:-
Judes v Plunketts
Whitehall v CC

Vinnies went down recently and came back up, but not sure they have the players these days for an automatic return to the top flight....

Very eventful day in the Dublin SHC today.
1/4 Finals:-
Ballyboden 1-31 v Vinnies 2-27 AET
Crokes 3-27 v Barrog 0-18

Relegation Playoffs:-

Whitehall 2-23 v CC 2-22 AET
Judes 0-25 v Plunkett's 0-23

Both St Vincent's and Craobh Chiarain were very unlucky.
Hell of a comeback by Whitehall.

Some effort by Plunkett's also.

Kilmacud Crokes look to be in great form, and easily accounted for a tough Naomh Barrog side.

Dublin SHC 1/4 Finals:-

Lucan 2-22 v Brigid's 1-16
Fianna 2-37 v Cuala 2-34 AET

Hell of a game, as predicted, between the Glasnevin and the Dalkey men.
It was 2-28 each at FT, and 2-15 to 1-14 to Na Fianna at HT.
It was a hell of an effort by Cuala who were always playing catch up.

The other game was level at HT 0-09 a piece. But Lucan, under Charlie Carter upped it in the 2nd half and ran out easy winners in the end. Brgid's losing a man early on didnt help.....

Semi Final draw:-
Fianna v Crokes
Lucan v Boden

Has the making of 2 crackers of games.
I will go for Crokes v Lucan to make it to the Final, although the Crokes v Na Fianna game could go either way.

Dublin SFC 1/4 Finals results:-
Crokes 1-21 v Lucan 0-05
Cuala 4-20 v Clontarf 0-12
Boden 0-11 v Castleknock 1-05
Fianna 1-18 v BK 1-17

2 extremely one sided games.
Ballymun unfortunately surrendered a 1-13 to 0-05 lead in the 2nd half.
County Clare import K.Sexton scored 1-04 after coming on as a sub for Na Fianna.
Deano top scored with 8pts, and an injury to John Small didnt help matters for the Mun.

Semi Final draw:-
Cuala v Boden
Crokes v Fianna

I cant see anything other than a Cuala v Crokes Final."
Well that was 2 bonkers games.

I also though would be same final as yourself, and even looked liked it should have been at h/t in both games!

Yes I was in the Neller today also.
Both games looked over at Half Time tbh.

Amazing couple of games in PP today.

Dublin SFC semi-finals:-
Na Fianna 3-11 Kilmacud Crokes 1-16 FT
Ballyboden St Enda's 3-21 Cuala 2-22 FT

Crokes led by 1-11 to 2-03 at Half Time.
N/F missed a gilt edge goal chance in the first couple of minutes but Crokes with Shane Walsh sublime and top scoring with 1-11 of their 1-16 total. However Crokes really missed the injured Paul Mannion today.
The Glasnevin men had 7 players on the scoresheet to Crokes 4, and that in itself told a story.
Take Walsh out of that team and a much fancied Crokes team were very average today for some reason.
Paddy O'Connor played well for Crokes at midfield and chipped in with 2 scores.
For the N/F Murch went off injured after 6minutes but he was saying he should be ok for the Final.
David Quinn & James Doran played well but for me, the ever young Jonny Cooper was exceptional at number 3, driving forward at every opportunity and was a great reader of the game throughout.
O'Hanlon played well in goals also. Doran, as in the 1/4 Final win over BK, once again proved to be the matchwinner in injury time.

As for the other game - wow.
Cuala led by 7points with 5minutes to go but 2 quickfire goals from Boden, who finished with an unanswered 2-03, knocked out the Dublin, Leinster and All Ireland Club Football Champions.
Leading by 1-14 to 0-11 at H/T and very comfortable throughout, no one could have seen Cuala lose this game.
They always seemed to have a man in a good scoring position, and finished with 10 players on the scoresheet to Boden's 7.
Con top scored for Cuala with 7pts, and his brother Niall with 6pts.
Daire Sweeney scored 2-08 for Boden with the ever influential Collie Basquel scoring 1-01
I thought the legend Mick Fitz had an excellent first half, but Collie and MF had a real ding dong in that 2nd half.
When Boden ran straight at them, it surprisingly caused Cuala lots of problems.
I think even the onlooking NF players and management were surprised at that turnaround in those last 5minutes....

So in 2 weeks wee have a Dublin SFC Final no one could have predicted:-
Boden v Na Fianna.

On a couple of side notes - great to see Conal Keaney involved with the Boden coaching setup.
Also, great seeing Steo there on the Terrace for both games doing a bit of recon for Ger Brennan.
I think Sweeney must have impressed the focussed onlooker today. ;o)

So after the very eventful Dublin SFC semi finals, attention this weekend now turns to the Dublin SHC semi finals

Lucan v Boden
Fianna v Crokes

Could we have a repeat of Na Fianna v Boden, in our Hurling Final...?????
I honestly don't think so, but after how last Sunday unfolded, it wouldn't shock me.... ;o)

I was talking to some of the N/F Hurlers on Sunday who were watching the football semi, and they think it will be another cracker.

Another great double header in store......

Typo - FOUR NFL titles.

Disliked by many opposing fans, but a player each of them would love to have playing for their team.

A colossus at the heart of the Dubs defence for many years. We have big boots to fill in that position now....

Looking forward to seeing John play for a few more years with BK.

Couldn't agree more! The type of player that every great team needs but few are ever blessed with!

A gem!
