Replying To Ollie2:  "Good luck to Ger Brennan and thank you for giving me the best sporting day of my life on Sunday May 11th 2025. A day that I thought I would never see."
Louth had a great year overall.
Seniors, u20's and Minors and of course the Wee County Ladies.
It was a remarkable season in fairness.

I think the fact that it was Meath who ye beat in the Leinster final made it all the more sweeter for ye, after what happened all those years ago in the Joe Sheridan Leinster Final.

Best of luck next season Ollie.

Very true Fionn. I'm from Drogheda so I'm right on the Meath border. Down through the years Meath reminds me of my ex. Broke my heart on many occasions. 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 are all matches Meath beat Louth which were always the same year as the football world cup. This year's Leinster final was the best atmosphere I ever attended. I thought once Costello scored for Meath, they would come back and win but fair play to Louth they came back and held on to win. When the hooter went I could not believe it. After 68 years of pain the Delaney Cup has finally come home to the Wee County. Leinster is gonna be some battle next year with yourselves, ourselves, Meath, Kildare and Offaly all fancying their chances. Best of luck to the Dubs. You never know we might be meeting each other at some stage.

I reckon we will meet in Leinster next year.
Just think we will.
Ger will get a great reception from both sets of fans.

I am on H/S a long time and that has to be one of the best lines I have seen on here.....

Results from a very sunny Neller earlier:-

BSJ 1-23 v Vinnies 1-11
Cuala 4-16 v Raheny 0-14

2 very one sided games.
Con with a Hat Trick
Raheny without Fento.

And after Collies 3x 2 pointers last night, Brian had a couple today also.
Not sure what the hell our previous manager was talking about....
His system clearly was not conducive to 2 point scores.

Also today:
Crokes beat Clontarf 0-21 to 0-14
C'knock beat W.Colmcilles 3-14 to 1-15

Fionn it's so true. The Meath team of the late 80s/90s and early 2000s reminded me of Fergies Man Utd team. They were not beaten till the final whistle. Sean Boylan is one of the best managers of all time and him a hurling man. I had the pleasure of meeting him. He is a gentleman. If you look back at 1991 four match saga between Dublin and Meath. The Dubs should of won every single match but Meath never gave up and won in the end.

2 Pointers and Dublin!

I was just reading diffetent gaa articles from the last few months and rrading aboit two pointers etc.
Many saying Dubs lack of two pointers was their big failing.Against Meath Dubs scored two 2 pointers to Meaths 4. Con and Basquel being Dubs scorers.

A few months ago showed that both Kerry and Dublin were low on the two pointer scale. However Kerry improved incrementaly throughout and two pointers became vital to them whereas Dublin did nt.Now tbf to Dessie I never saw where he said Dublin have nt got players to score two pointers (as was said here) and i doubt very much Dessie would say that.Dessie was a good manager and a decent man.

Interestingly though I did read that Barney Rock said it was against Dublins DNA to go for two pointers as they had been drilled for years only to sboot from the scoring zone.

Ironically Jim Gavin head of the new rules caused Dublins lack of long shooting.I listened to Paddy Andrews on a podcast and he stated that under Gavin they were drilled in not shooting until in the high percentage shooting zone and maybe only Connolly would get away with it.Andrew said if you missed from outside the scoring zone it could cost you your place.

I expect Dublin to embrace the two pointers next year.

As Dessie said, when asked about the lack of 2 point options, and I quote:-
Yes it is definitely something you would like to be able to address but there is always the challenge if you dont have those natural type of 2 point shooters in the group, it is difficult to manufacture them.

It remains a mind boggling statement by him tbh, considering for example the Dublin SFC round 1 of games.

Interesting to see Eamon Fennell alongside Ger over the weekend in Parnell Park at the Dublin SFC double header.
Also, confirmed that the Dublin CB did speak with Declan about the role.

Great to see Con back to full fitness and score 3-06 upon his return.
We really missed him this year, but it was a very long season for him with Cuala etc..

We had Con v Meath and we got our arses handed to us. We were missing Bugler that day who was going great before that and I think the Meath loss affected us. On the Darcy thing.I heard money was a problem and while its only a rumour ,Darcy is getting good money by Leinster so I would say there is some truth to it. I think Darcy was first choice.

Fionn, can you give some detail regarding official confirmation of talks between Declan and Dublin County Board with respect to the Dublin Senior football manager position.
Have both or either parties publicly confirmed this?
