Replying To Taypot:  "There appears to be no truth in the story that Mike Solan has left with immediate affect. Just a few people getting excited and getting inside information that turns out to be incorrect. Big blow for Tourlestrane though. They had put in a savage performance having gotten 2 consecutive bad beatings and now they have a manager who doesn't want to be there anymore."
Would not say Solan does not want to be there but the offer of Inter county was too strong to turn down.

Think a good fit for both and the best of luck to him.

I'm not sure how you mean it's a good fit for both .
Good for Solan because he has gotten a Co managers job but I don't see any gains for Tourlestrane. They will be looking for their fourth manager in five years when the championship is over.

I didn't think it a huge crowd between 2 of the top 3 but I suppose considering weather, there was a good few. Collooney is a great spot for games.

I understand the thinking in terms of getting high profile managers for 1/2 year stints as they have an experienced group but at some stage they will have to look within and to build a group up again. The likes of Solan will always attract attention. It's a sellers market after all.

I presume Mike Solan will remain in charge for remainder of the year. At the end of the day they've a great coach in Michael Moyles. Even if Solan did step away, they've a brilliant no.2 to step in. Michael Moyles a bigger addition than Solan

Apologies Taypot. I meant a good fir for both Solan and Longford. Not far from him to travel, good coach and they will improve under a young manager with high ambitions.

Tough for Tourlestrane but they will attract a big name to replace him, though could be more difficult in years to come - if not at the top table.

Ok. I get you now. No bother. Tourlestrane have invested heavily in their senior team

Not meaning any offence to the man, he really is not. I'll stand corrected if he gets the job and gets them a championship.

I will need another day or so to think about the predictions. There's something not right when the 2nd week of September comes around and a lot of teams are only playing their second championship game and you might have to wait for the following weekend to play your 2nd game if you are a Junior A player. I don't think this was the idea of the split season. In the games that are played so far I think most of the Co players gave failed to shine, with a few exceptions. This is probably due to the fact that they played little or no football with their club until the championship started and it takes time to re adjust. The stand out players are the players that are playing club football all year. In the senior championship in Group 2 you could easily have a team on 4 points and get through to the semi finals while another team on 4 points could be in relegation trouble. Group 1 was supposed to be very straightforward but Tubber have that blown open. All to play for.

The majority of ye are picking Molaise in a close contest. Just curious as to the reason you think we will edge it?

A lot of people writing off DRP.. If they can do to McLoughlin what Tourlestrane done they win. Molaise heavily reliant on his scoring power and teams will target this from here on in.

Predicting a bite in Curry after two hard fought games where they have come out the wrong end of tight affairs.
