Hard to look past Gweedore this weekend in the senior championship final. NC have not had a good championship to date. Fortunate is an understatement but one thing they have shown is never say die attitude which will be needed again this weekend. I can either see this game being a 1-2 point win for NC or a landslide 10+ points victory for Gweedore.

I'll also hold my hand up now and state if I were to chose without any bias who should represent Donegal in Ulster I would have to say Gweedore.

As for the reserves game I have a lot more confidence even though Gweedore have been the best at this grade throughout the years. I was actually disappointed with Eamon McGee's comments that reserves championships don't count. There are plenty of players on both sides that are dreaming of winning the reserve championship and will hold it very highly in their accolades

Agreed. Only have good experiences were Armagh fans. Very gracious in defeat the last two Ulster finals

No wild chat here about the senior county final. How do we see it going?

Gaoth Dobhair have been going about their business very efficiently. They have won all their games without being hugely impressive. They're probably happy enough with that. They have a nice mix of youth and experience. There is a big chance for them to lay down a marker. A few very good u21 teams in the last few years who will be keen to show that they can also win titles at senior level.

Naomh Conaill looked to be going out on a couple of occasions but fair play to them, they just do not know when they're beaten. I've heard people saying that they're not going well this year, and obviously Ciaran Thompson is a huge miss for them. But yet, they still find themselves in the final. If they can click on the day and get a big performance, they're certainly capable of winning another title.

One thing is for sure, if Gaoth Dobhair find themselves ahead by 4 or 5 points going down the straight, they'll need to race and not stumble to the finish line because Naomh Conaill will not give in.

Seems to be quite alright!

I was doing a delivery in Glenties today and it's blue and white everywhere! The man was telling me that they've two u20 county players playing reserve?? If true , I find it strange how they aren't pushing for seniors!

Personally think this is Gweedore's year, Glenties have huffed and puffed throughout the championship and although very dogged, I can see them being beat Sunday. Ciaran Thompson too bad of a loss for them I'd be very surprised if they won. Gweedore by 4.

GaothDobhair have lost a lot of county standard players over the last couple of years and Naomh Connaill haven't been playing that well this year.On paper NC look stronger but I don't think you can suddenly turn it on so I would say if GDs young players can come up to the standard of the departed players they have a chance against an out of form NC.

I've seen both teams a few times in the championship and I'd have say Gweedore are playing the better football. Ethan Harkin has been excellent. But you would have to be an idiot to write off NC, they looked dead and buried against Termon but somehow won it, the semi final against Four Masters looked to be going against them until the Kevin McGettigan goal. Been very impressed with young Max Campbell.

I will hesitantly call it in favour of Gweedore.

I'm going our lads by 2 tomorrow. Agree we haven't been shooting lights out and Gweedore are a fine team but still think we will have enough.

I think it will be a draw, extra time then is a coin flip.

Looking forward to the Match tomorrow. Ciaran and Eoghan are huge misses. The 2 weeks break will hopefully clear up a few other niggly injuries.
I've a feeling there is a big match still in Naomh Conaill and hopefully we will get over the line tomorrow. NC by 4.

Well done carndonagh yesterday and im sure its a good feeling after last year's loss. And then the reserve team on top of it. Donegal junior teams have done pretty well in ulster over the last decade so hopefully that'll continue this year.

Gweedore have been the most consistent team in the senior championship. They are very controlled though maybe to a fault. They were a good bit better than kilcar and mccumhaills but them back in by possibly not driving home their dominance. And NC so don't need any invitation to win a game. So gweedore for me but nothing would surprise me. And fingers crossed for a good game. You couldn't realistically ask for better conditions in October.

County final done and dusted at HT.

Is this the end of this glenties/Fintown team or can they pull it off from here - they don't look to have the legs at all for Gweedore

Best club over the last decade or so. What an achievement. Naomh Conaill never say never.

They're called Naomh Conaill. Why can't you say their name?

Oh and it aged well.

They must have read your post out at half time in the dressing room.

Well done to them all. Their composure and calmness reminds me of the Dublin teams, comes with experience is suppose. Contrast that to the chances GD butchered at the end to win it. Oh mo dhia as they'd say themselves.

I see you have not changed, still getting it wrong, lol.
They said we can only play defensively and win, but what do we do with the new rules, keep winning county finals.
Heart, skill, youth and experience, what a team.
Hard luck to gweedore, they will be back.
I think the difference between the teams is our line made the right calls
Congratulations to the three legends that have won there 8th county title and to the young players celebrating there first.
And not only that, won it without our star county players all season.
