Fair play to Eunans. Championship can carry on now!!

Credit to match officials who ref our games!! I have a gripe with some of these new rules esp the advantage rule..some refs play it out where others give 10 seconds and that. It would be better if they all played the same length so when you have a new ref you know where you stand as the previous one may have different views!!

Anyway, big weekend again. Looking forward to it!! If Termon manage to beat Glenties and Kilcar beat Gweedore do Termon become favorites?

Of course the officials should do better but be pretty sure the officials are plenty disappointed with themselves. I wonder is there more could be done in the process of the substitution to stop it happening."
Just do it like they do in soccer. A complete halt to proceedings until the ref notes the change and the player being replaced has left the pitch.

You're right and think at intercounty level they've done a lot to clean up the substitutions. It can slow things up and it can get very busy it et but its just something that will just have to be lived with.

County board should have stepped in and ordered a replay. Officials are human and can make errors no issue with that, but like kilmacud and Glen it shouldn't have been imposed on eunans to object for justice to be served. As usual GAA great at ignoring the obvious and players deserve better.

Another mess, paints us in a really bad light when we demand respect for our county team but cannot match the same standards ourselves with our clubs.

I see smaller fish has picked up on this too.. rightly so

Yea no point in giving out about the 6 day turnaround for the county citing players welfare .then giving mc cumhaills a 6 day turnaround.. not good enough I'm afraid. If it happened under previous regimes they would be slated.. on another point dissapointed to see mc fadden ferry heading to Oz again. Probably won't see him in a county jersey again..

I don't see the need for playing games so close together, why couldn't the quarter finals have been spaced out more?

You cant have a situation where the county board steps in to decide on a replay due to officiating errors. Then you'd have a situation where the county board is deciding which games are important enough to have them bother to review, and which errors are important enough.

Every game has errors in officiating, so in reality the county board could review every game with a 1 point difference and find some reason to overturn it. Or even have a situation where there is an error that should deserve an appeal but the board has looked at the whole game, and on balance the ref gave a few wrong decisions the other way, so this evens it out and the appeal fails.

It would take no time until there would be calls of corruption and club politics if the county board decided to step in and not step in on certain games.

It would create issues between the referrees and the board. County boards have trouble maintaining enough officials without going out of their way to highlight and overturn their incorrect decisions. Not to say that officials shouldnt be held to account, but this is not the way to go about it.

Also you could have a situation where the county board announces a replay where the players do not want it. Imagine going on the beer for 2 days after getting knocked out and being told, actually youve got training tomorrow and a replay in few days, without even being consulted. Some teams will accept they lost on the day even with the error.

From a governance perspective, it is best to have that seperation in process, that the aggrieved team makes the request and has a specific error they want reviewed.
