Certainly after the night in Ballybofey when Tyrone done a job on us. Meath should not be underestimated and they won't be with Jim involved. Meaty are very strong at midfield, got a real pocket dynamo in Morris and a brilliant young full back in Rafferty. Added to that you got another young player going places in Matthew Costello and proven experienced quality with the likes of Keoghan, Lavin and Bryan Menton. They'll bring lots of physicality and can fairly hit the two pointers. However Morris won't get the freedom he got today especially with McCole about and hopefully Patton is back near to his best not giving Meath the momentum they got off Gleeson today. Kerry were fantastic today and will be hard beat. However they'll really have earned it to get to the same levels they did today with Tyrone to come and a final in their eyesight.

I see john fogarty saying on twitter he believes tyrone vs kerry could be played on the Saturday. Would be surprised at that but will wait and see what is announced tomorrow

Every game is different, what teams have done all year will cout for nothing in semi finals. Tyrone look like a team of haven't produced a big performance yet. Many people will point to their win against us but I think they played reasonably well that night and deserved their win but I think it was a game that we were very poor in. I fancied kerry to win yesterday but not in the manner they did. The media being the victims of cute kerry talk in the build up to the game. Tyrone/Kerry could go either way. OROURKE likes to keep some of his best players in reserve for the second half it's the way he had always managed. Meath have had some serious results against 3 of the big guns. Unlike Monaghan Meath will not lack belief and have the tradition to back this up. Looking back at the Monaghan game the score we put up against the breeze was actually key to us winning the game as Monaghan struggled to find the range against it. However we can't be giving anyone a run like Monaghan got on is in a semi final if we want to win. I believe with the break now we will be ready for a semi final and hopefully we will get the job done. I see the tailteann cup final is in the Saturday..Tyrone haven't been bringing a crowd this year and the Kerry fans did their duty yesterday. From that point it would be a good pairing with the Tailteann final. The 12th is not good day to be travelling in the north with plenty roads and towns closed so that would have to be a factor too. Yeah Donegal had the wind at their back in the second half but really only for the last 20 mins. There was barely a puff of wind in the stadium before that. Monaghan collapsed after McAnespie went off. The shape was gone, poor movement. The signs were already there tho. 5 wides in the first half and they were really bad ones. 7 more in the second half but some of those were hit and hope. Bad shot selection, worse passing and left gaps at the back without outscoring the opposition. Donegal will comfortably beat Meath. Great to be still in the hunt,didn't look good at half time but by God we fairly got going in the second half. The monaghan collapse. Is hard to explain did they run of steam or were we that good. The answer is probably in between. But we can't afford a first half like that against the better teams. We are in a brilliant position now, if we were told at the start of the year that meath would stand between us and a place in the final we would be delighted. No disrespect to meath who are an up and coming team and have some outstanding players but we will have too much for them, i feel it's a year or two too soon for them. Yeah I'd agree with you there. A confident Meath team is a dangerous one, no matter where they are in their development. But I just have the feeling that Jim will have the lads laser-focused and nothing will be left to chance. I kpet waiting for Galway to kick on yesterday, and at one point it looked like they were going to do just that. But Meath's goal was a killer, and fair play to the Royals, once they got back ahead they didn't let it slip. So we will absolutely need to treat them with the respect they deserve. My assessment of Saturday is that we were fortunate to come away with a win against Monaghan, had scored that goal chance at the Hill 16 end early in the 2nd half or if one of those 2 pointer efforts had gone over, there could have been a fatal momentum swing back to Monaghan and we would have been out. To Johns credit, and whoever he knows on the inside, he is rarely wrong! Though regards the doubleheader, as a neutral, the Kerry Tyrone game wetts the appetite more than your game and could be a throw back to the noughties era, so should that not draw more of a crowd with the TC double billed with DonMea?

Conversely though we played into Monaghans's hands in first half too. And momentum could have swung our way a few times Had Eoghan Ban kept his shot low and we got the opening goal Had Ryan McHugh not been harshly called for overcarrying while being fouled - the pass he played when whistle blew had us in for a big goal chance Right at the end of first half Moore took the wrong option of sprinting into a space with three Monaghan defenders. We were 5 points down after Patton's indecision. All we had to do was keep it calm, recycle possession, wait for hooter and hit our own shot to nothing that might have had us 3 points down. instead we coughed it up and Monaghan did just that when Beggan hit his wonder score. I agree also but I think there's one man that has to be right on form in the semi final and that's Shaun Patton, he isn't fully fit I don't think, vital we get our kickouts away because if Meath get on top winning our kickouts they will build up a head of steam and be hard to hold back. They are are young strong fit team with some great forwards well able to put any team to the sword, just look at the teams they have beaten already, they are a coming team hopefully we can stop them in their tracks this year but make no mistake I think Meath are back as a serious contender for Sam. Jim will have them well analysed no doubt, we just have to play from the start like we played that second half against Monaghan, I thought Monaghan ran out of steam strangely enough considering the easier prep they had. they seemed to panic and kick some very bad wides.
