Gerry Carberry a very good manager too) Intermediate: Cashel (Having the 2 farrells for the whole league seems to be helping them, new transfer of Paddy Dowd adds experience and was playing some great stuff in the leavue but Connollys with all their county players also will be close too) Junior: Legan/Killoe (A Legan v Killoe final and it will come down to how many players Killeo lose to the senior team. If they keep there squad together I would say Killeo are stronger but Legan are always a big threat. It would be good to see a first team winning the junior championship. Senior : One of Clonguish, Colmcille, mull, Abbey, Killoe will all be on par in my opinon with Clonguish getting over the line. Intermediate : Connollys seemed to have fallen away again, they just seem to bottle it every year, very open inter championship. take your pick between, Killashee, Cashel, Grattans, Connollys, even Ballymore or Kenagh with a full team will have a say. Junior : Killoe will surely win this. The gap between each grade is shocking.. Co board again has a lot to answer for as usual. both intermediate and junior champions of 2025 will get relegated badly with heavy beatings in 2026.. between 2021 - 2025 Killashee 21 champions - Did not field in the senior champ - surely goes down as the most shocking state in senior football. Ballymahon 22 champions - some beatings as much as 30 points. Kenagh 23 champions - hammerings in every game Fr Manning Gaels 24 champions ??? surely looking at the same fate I am not meaning to be calling any of these clubs out as it is not their fault. Would make every championship game more exciting and must win to an extent while also having less games or dead rubbers (Longford CB might not be a fan of this). This also makes the Intermediate and Junior championships far more competitive and therefore more enticing to win (specifically the junior championship)!! 8 Senior 8 Intermediate and the rest Junior! I think they kicked 4 two pointers. So by old rules instead of 28 points ,it would have been 24!! Thats serious shooting. But they do need to clean up their goal attempts when they come up against the serious contenders for the championship. They must have missed 3 or 4 glorious goal chances. Rathcline were quite well set up, missed goal chances killed Mullineachta but the big names stood up for Rathcline, two points they might not have expected to get so absolutely massive for them. Mullineachta down Aidan McGelligot and then James Mcgivney seemed to pick up a knock in the first half. Expecting a big reaction from them next weekend. Took in 2 games last weekend live and another game on Clubber. Abbeylara and Manning Gaels was a mismatch - Drumlish will struggle to pick up any points (they are in a tough group which needs to be said also). Abbeylara looked sharp at times but their real tests are yet to come. Robbie Smyth looked to have picked up an injury which could be huge, hopefully not the case. Rathcline and Mullinaghtha was a good watch. I was amazed at how far Mullinaghta have fallen away in recent years - they were slow in the build up, keepers kickouts were very poor and offered very little up top. Rathcline the better team and if Shane Kenny was on form, they would have been 8/9 clear. Iarla O'Sullivan at 6 had a fantastic game. That being said, Rathcline coughed up some soft goal chances that could have gifted Mullinaghta an undeserved win/draw. I watched Clonguish and Slashers back on Clubber on Sunday. Clonguish were very impressive and move the ball at speed, when they are in full flow they are a very good team to watch. Carey and Flynn did the damage with 18 points between them. Slashers will be hoping for a bounce back against Manning Gaels and kick start their championship before huge games v Rathcline and Mullinaghtha Some good games and individual performances.
