Any word from the county senior team. Have they been doing anything yet and how is Poacher being received?

The proof of the pudding is in the eating and Roscommon are miles ahead of Leitrim. Sligo are ahead but to a lesser extent, but still ahead.
Results back this up.

Roscommon clubs have been competitive in and have been winning Connacht club titles at all levels in the past. Indeed they have won all Ireland club titles. Their club scene is at a completely higher standard to ours, and therefore by default their inter county team is of a higher standard.

Sligo club scene is improving and also by then default their inter county team is improving also.

Leitrim have never won a Connacht club title at any level. The only county in Connacht to have never done so. When was the last time we were in a Connacht club final at any level? Does anyone know?

Does anyone know if any other county has never won a provincial club title at any level? Or are we alone in this regard??

I didn't take the bait but several others fell hook line and sinker for it.

Also why are Leitrim clubs kicking their heels idle for 4-5 weeks and ending up going in rusty against battle hardened opponents in Connacht competition. It's makes a challenging situation even more difficult . Leitrim Co board need to waken up ."
Connacht Council arrange games for Club Championship at beginning of the year NOT Leitrim Co Board. Nobody in Leitrim understands why Mohill were left waiting 5 weeks for their Semi Final game.wishing them well

Last a Leitrim club team was in a Connacht final was Ballinamore Seán O'Heslin's in the intermediate in 2016

Allen Gaels 1997 the last time a Leitrim club reached the senior Connacht final

And for Junior final it was Eslin in 2010.

In all honesty Pearses probably have as strong a team that have ever been in Connacht. One of the favourites for the all Ireland and deservedly so.

Can Mohill win? Yes, but they need to have an amazing day and Pearses to have an off day. Can it happen ? Yes, but unlikely. Mohill have a hell of a team and will die with their boots on for sure, they'll give it a hell of a go. I'd give mohill a better chance against ballina or coolera/strandhill.

Heart days mohill can do it, head says Pearses. I tend towards the latter will be the outcome unfortunately, and possesses to be contesting the all Ireland final

3 pts scored by Mohill. That must be lowest tally by any club in the Provinces club this year.

Poor performance from mohill today. Worst game of football I have seen in a long while. I think Mary's or Ballinamore would've stuck it to pearses better.

Pearses in the Roscommon semi final held Faithleachs to 0-3 also and Faithleachs have two of Roscommon's best forwards in the Murtagh brothers.

Some surprise that "MarysMan123" thinks Mary's would have gotten on better *eye roll*

Any match report from someone at today's game. Mohill would been happy at half time but what happened them in the second half? I know D M was sent off so maybe that had a massive impact on it.

All the nonsense in local media relating to the leitrim senior finals this years amd the high standardof football, reality is 2 well matched teams of limited standard who were the best of a bad bunch . One point from play in an hours football today from mohill says it all...

Marys wouldve scored only 1 point because atleast Mohill play forward instead of just back and forth. Shame on you Marysman, shame on you...

shocking display from Mohill, way too negative, only 1 point from play, its embarrassing for Leitrim football, Beirne and Reynolds played as defenders most of the game. The negative style didn't work as they lost by 10. new rules can't come quick enough and i'd say an unfit Keith Beirne would second that. I hope Keith Beirne goes back to the county and gets fit so we can see the class player that he is. at the moment he's a shadow of his former self and i really hope he gets back to the top level. Mohill and Leitrim badly need him firing on all cylinders.

Kilkenny and Waterford are the only two counties along with Leitrim not to win a provincial title at Senior Intermediate or Junior level.

Glad to see that a few people are brave enough to call a spade a spade regarding the standard of football at senior level. Much easier to go along with the consensus that everything is rosy in the garden. Hopefully the upcoming convention will bring about some positive changes in the County board. Like our football, too slow and from a bygone era.

I made a simple point. Mohill had a bad day which happens to big teams. They went and played a system that they never play and got punished. Your username makes sense as you appear to have the IQ of a Jambon.

A tough game to watch between tactics and weather. O'Hara set Mohill up for minimum damage 15 behind the ball and it worked for 30mins. The red card did Mohill no favours and eventually Pearse's grinded out the result. Mohill missed 1-03 in the first half and Harkin picked up a knock who seemed to be carrier of a lot of ball before he got the knock. Some big players for Mohill weren't at the races.
