4th in the betting for the All-Ireland after today's win moved ahead of Galway,Armagh. Might be only January but the hype already in place.

We were already 4th in the betting before this game... I am surprised by those odds . There is no hype from us we are rebuilding . The only hype that's coming is from outaiders. It's January man . S1234 (Mayo) - Posts: 630 - 11/01/2026 21:03:18 2650711 Link 0 |

Oh from 5th to 4th. I must book the hotel now. The reason they are 4th is the last few years have shown multiple teams can make the last 4. There's not much between 4 or 5 teams on their day. TheFlaker (Mayo) - Posts: 8712 - 11/01/2026 21:09:57 2650712 Link 1 |

Betting firms revising odds based on current results isn't hype. But hype probably won't be far away.

Certainly hype about Mayo now, 4th in the betting is remarkable for a team who made their exit at the last 12 in 2024 and last 16 exit last summer. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 658 - 11/01/2026 22:54:21 2650730 Link 0 |

Each to their own and teams are in different places with sigerson etc but I'd be disappointed as mayo fan to see Moran trotting out likes of AOS ROD in fbd games over giving likes of beirne Lydon starts Rossies went very strong for fbd last time it was played I think hammered a development squad from Galway in 23 or 24 I'd expect similar next week and I hope we give new players a go next week I'd hate to see likes of finnerty mchugh mcdaid etc to come in until league jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1870 - 12/01/2026 08:06:45 2650736 Link 0 |

Nobody will stop Mayo this year. We all know Sam is in the bag. Kerry will be lucky to keep the ball kicked out to us.

Is there anymore Mayo coverage than other years? Don't think so personally. National coverage of Mayo has reduced if anything. Mayo picked several new players yesterday alongside more established ones which is surely the best way to integrate them? The likes of rod and aos finished up with the club in September and Mayo were out since mid June so it's not like they're being flogged. Tommy Conroy didn't kick a ball for the county last year so needs game time MayoDan (Mayo) - Posts: 499 - 12/01/2026 09:23:52 2650742 Link 1 |

I agree Clare no real hype about anyone yet other then Kerry looking potentially dominant. A little hype around Tyrone with their u20s in recent years. A lot of question marks around Galway mayo Dublin all should see a bit of transition over next couple of years and Armagh with their departures unavailability this year too jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1870 - 12/01/2026 10:23:35 2650755 Link 0 |

Perhaps tell a couple of your lads to focus on Roscommon instead of obsessing over Mayo.

Seeing how poor Glenullin were yesterday highlights the level Strokestown are at compared to clubs outside of Connacht. Marginally bet two mediocre teams in Leitrim and Mayo but lost out on a poor Glenullin side, you would think a Gofund me of 10k would win an all Ireland Loughallenbanks (Leitrim) - Posts: 19 - 12/01/2026 11:11:35 2650761 Link 0 |

They bet the Mayo team by 10 points not marginally and them plus Allen Gaels weren't mediocre. Glenullin was far from a poor side any team that win Derry and Ulster aren't and were scoring for fun coming into the final. Their high scoring was stopped with a boring retain possession tactics/game a way of playing that we were told was over with the new rules. Kerry clubs record in the Junior club championship speaks for itself over the last number years, of course having only 8 clubs in their senior championship greatly helps them to be so successful in Junior and intermediate and when it comes to Gofund all three clubs made serious money. Still surprised a Kerry team played that way which was a big focus on stopping Glenullin scoring than playing the Kerry way of attacking football and lots of kick passing Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3813 - 12/01/2026 13:06:46 2650792 Link 0 |
