Maybe people would like to see the Smith brothers and Sean Purcell and plenty more good lads win a county title. I was never oharas biggest fan but my God id love to see him win us a county title. Pearces and Brigid's are going to be tough stop

On the drink again?
Boyle didn't win the County SFC since the 1920s. No true sports person would begrudge them one no matter who manages them.
Problem is their lack of strength in depth.

Jesus that weak enough list. Not a hope ger Brennan comes to us. Dessie Dolan done a brilliant job with westmeath and I could never see Mark McHugh come near us again Mark Dowd I like him but I don't think he would bring in the top coaches we need I think he would bring in lads he's worked with in club football over the years and unless we go big with top top strength and conditioning coach defensive coach and after the last couple of years we need need a top forward coach. The rest on the list can go in the bin."
Manager odds are a real stab in the dark stuff, sure wasn't Shane Curran,Pat Flanagan short odds in the past and were they ever seriously considered by the Roscommon county board?

Dessie Dolan with Westmeath in the championship was played 8 lost 7, drew 1. He needed two attempts to get Westmeath promoted out of Division 3. If Dublin don't opt for Ger Brennan then he could be option and better option than Dessie Dolan.

Forwards coach is probably a priority going by the amount of games Roscommon shooting efficiency i

He has a solid CV. Would certainly tighten up the defence which is required to stay in D1

----------

Derry under Mickey Harte in conceded 14 points per game average as they topped the div 1 table.

This year under Tally finished bottom of the Div 1 table and conceded 27 points per game average.

Granted new rules and more scores conceded but that's some decline and doesn't back up your view he'd certainly tighten up the Roscommon defence. Anyway it's the other end that requires the most attention.

Brigids laid down a marker in tonight's Div 1 league final, Nine points ahead at half time and kept Roscommon Gaels at arm's length 2nd half to win by 13 points. Apart from Ben O'Carroll (in America) they were basically full strength including new signing Conor Carroll in goal.

Roscommon Gaels started without Peter Gillooly,Mark Healy and the Carthy Brothers didn't play they should give a better account of themselves once all are back for the championship.

I've already said it. He would put a defensive structure in place, what is needsed to survive in D1

Also I haven't seen or heard of Niall McInerney in a long time. I know he left roscommon because of studies and work commitments. What age is Niall now? He was a great player for us years ago. Probably 2018 he left or maybe before. If he's back with Brigid's playing senior football and starting be interesting to see how he gets on. How did he do last night

It might be "only th'oul League" but still a big statement by Brids last night.

Paddy Nally ... his record with Derry wouldn't inspire confidence.
As for the defence I think our failings v Cork and Meath were as much if not more in the forwards division?

Was interesting watching the contrast between how a lot of players played with the club v county . Brigids attacked with breakneck speed using runners from deep and mixed it using long direct ball to various options moving in and out. Kickout movement was serious one set play goal from one with a bullet to opp 65.
