How Oran managed to lose that match in Castlerea will play on their minds for some time. Seven points in front with 5 minutes of normal time to play and Glaveys finished the game with 13 men with late sending offs. Glaveys with 2-2 without reply to win by one and the winner a Rob Heneghan penalty with the last kick of the game deep into injury time. Prior to the penalty Oran were somehow not given a free in when two players was hanging out of Tom Featherston yet the ref gave a free out for over carrying.

In the other senior games I'm expecting good competitive contest between Roscommon Gaels v Boyle and Brigids v Pearses tomorrow. Clann should have too much for Faithleachs tonight.

How wrong I was with Faithleachs. As I walked out of Kiltoom I'm still buzzing after watching probably the match of the year. Faithleachs really should have closed that game out when 5 points ahead with a minute of injury time played and late rally by Clann 1-2 without reply brought the game into extra time. Faithleachs to their credit lift their heads for a deserved win 3-17 to 1-22. The goals from the Murtagh brother was worth the entrance fee alone.

Glaveys and Faithleachs into the last 4 what a top quality and competitive senior championship we have and roll on the matches tomorrow.

Some weekend of senior Quarter final action with all the favorites with the bookies and punters Boyle,Oran,Clann and Brigids beaten today.

Earlier today Roscommon Gaels full value for their three point win. Boyle only allowed to play well for ten minutes in the 2nd half when they scored 5 points without reply. Win built on a solid defensive display by Mark Dowd men. Ryan Conlon with 1-1 and Cian Connolly 0-2 from play their best forwards and will fancy their chances to reach the final now.

2nd game Pearses took the 3/1 odds to heart with a solid team display, They really should have led by more than 3 points at half time time then Brigids improved in the 2nd half but it's a match Pearses probably would have won in normal time had Paddy Neilan not somehow ignored the foul on Niall Daly. Didn't matter as Pearses took control of the game again in extra time to run out deserved winners. Those that thought Brigids would win this county title at their ease underestimated the competitive nature of our club championship, it's arguably harder won title than Connacht! Declan Kenny,Paul Carey was superb for Pearses and sure to be favourties to win the county title now.

Very entertaining game. Pearses really should have won in normal time with a stonewall free that he would hardly have missed. Neutrals won't be complaining. At least there was something on line. Showing a game which mean little or nothing to two qualified teams seems bizarre, although more to do with the system of the county championship concerned.

Good advert for Ros football. Can't understand what the ref Neilan was thinking not giving Pearses a free at the end of normal time. I suppose Brigid's really felt the loss of Ben O'Carroll today. From a county point of view, Paul Carey impressed and Ruairi Fallon is going to be a big player for us going forward. Brian Stack is a colossus.Disappointed for him today. The favourites lost all four quarter finals. All remaining teams will fancy it now. It was a great weekend of club football in Roscommon.

Most club teams in Tyrone have a better coaching set up than our senior team now. How are we not asking questions ?

Some of us have been asking questions about the management of the Roscommon senior football team for some time. As the club quarter finals this weekend show, there are plenty of good footballers in Roscommon. I don't know one Roscommon supporter who thinks Davy Burke is up to it but there he is back next year for season 3 not a bother. Roscommon won three out of thirteen competitive fixtures this season. Not good. I think we have the players to be doing better than that.

Pearses clearly having taken out All Ireland finalists Brigids. Have the experience of winning county titles in 2019,2021 and Connacht title in Jan 2022 beating the best in Mayo and Galway at the time.

Faithleachs haven't won a county senior title since 1965. Roscommon Gaels waiting since 2004 and Glaveys have never won it and will be playing in their first semi final since 1996.
