Will show how much Roscommon have regressed if they play with 15 men back all game and still lose by 15 points. Teams that Dublin beat by 15 plus points are Div 3/4 teams and ones that defend very poorly against them.

Dublin already look a more impressive outfit than last year. Battered Kerry and others in the league without the likes of McCarthy and Cluxton. Cruising through Leinster this year whereas Kildare nearly turned them over in Leinster last year. While Roscommon so far have been poorer than this time last year so you would worry about that game in Croker.

We won 2 games since we drew with Dublin -
V Sligo just out of Division 4 and Monaghan who were dire in this years NFL.
We're all hoping for improved performances and that we had a plan to come good for the AI series.

Replying To Gaa_lover:  "I think provincials should be kept but have no bearing on All Ireland qualifications."

They become pre-season competitions then. Managers will be playing 2nd string teams and will struggle to sell out the airdome for matches as is the case currently with the FBD,"
Maybe, I wouldn't completely disagree with that. But not preseason. Run them off in break weeks during the league and finish the league where all teams start the championship with roughly the same break after the league. It's ridiculous that a county can reach a provincial final after one game while another needs to play 3 games to get there. Both guaranteed minimum to be a second seed. And more ridiculous for a league winner not to be a number one seed regardless of how they do in their province. This season we've counties not bothered with the league, a bit more bothered about province but not too much because they're concentrating on the round robin All Ireland. If they can devise a system that makes the strong counties stronger, a round robin phase to get more TV revenue, they could at least give so called weaker counties a chance to play a higher standard of opposition in their province and maybe even win their province.

The tweak that probably needs to be made before making provincial championship pre-season competitions is to just make the winner of the province a seed while 2nd seed goes to league placings.

Provincial championship in Ulster and Connacht is strong and means a lot. In Munster and Leinster it's dead in the water. Donegal/Tyrone I'm sure would much rather win an Ulster title than lose an All Ireland semi final. The same for Galway/Mm ayo but in Dublin and Kerry it's All Ireland metals you are judged by not provincial ones

A part from the slow start that was a very routine win for our U17s in a wet Hyde Park tonight. With us leading by 9 with 15 minutes to play we could take off players and rest them and we still ran out 6 point winners in the end. Semi final in two weeks against Sligo or Galway and will be played in John Prenty's handpicked Connacht GAA centre.

A lot of matches being played in Mayo. The U20 Final this evening is in Castlebar. The U20 semi final Sligo v Galway was in Castlebar. Is that all down to Prenty.

FFS!! as they say.
Now I see why the neutral venue for knockout games was brought in.

Prenty is damned when he does and damned when he doesn't. He does more than he doesn't. I'm not a bit biased though!

Bekan is a fantastic facility. Not nice in bad weather but Mayo gets very little rain fall or wind )).

Well done to the minor team on their victory over Sligo last night. Best of luck to the under 20's in the Connacht final this evening.

Well done the u20s. Great display in the second half. You could tell Galway would come back into it in that first half when we started playing real ponderous stuff. But transition in the second half was excellent. It would be great if the seniors could adopt more of that game. Also very unselfish of young McGinley for the last goal. Well deserved mom.

Well done under 20s, great display second half.
Pity about the 2nd quarter but probably learned from it.
Onwards to a meeting with AI favourites Tyrone.
After tonight they will fear no one.

Meanwhile Dear Davy, please leave 2 men up front at all times for the AI series

Roscommon had a great win tonight in under 20s. Super second half. As a Rossie we got the rub of the green from the referee especially last goal when the Galway lad was clearly fouled. Also I was disappointed with some of our supporters jeering at the Galway lads. We need to learn to be good winners as well as losers

Congrats to all the Roscommon U20 players and management in MacHale Park.

We fully deserved that Connacht U20 title today and apart from the last 10/15 minutes of the 1st half we were the better team in that match and margin about right in the end although it could have been more as we missed a few other goals chances. A pity the lads don't have a least two weeks to prepare for All Ireland semi final but that's HQ for you and their rushed nature of these inter county competitions now.

Between U20 and U17 this year is proof there is nothing wrong with our conveyor belt.

Was nothing wrong with the last goal, the Galway number 8 McClinchey caused the turn over to go in Roscommon's favour. When it came to rub of the green plenty in the game went in favour of Galway. A fully deserved win for Roscommon and having also topped the group they were certainly the best team at U20 level in Connacht this year.

As a rossie we got rub of green.... sorry babe I'm just posting on a forum pretending to be someone I'm not on an anonymous profile. Get a life lad ffs. If u were really from Roscommon you wouldn't have put down Kilkenny. Your 100 per cent troll who's main game is stick fighting.
Anyway ref kept Galway in the game first half some outrageous calls. Which helped the side miles put of their league and comfort zone into a lead I think even bamboozled them. Was men against boys bar 3 or 4 in a row for galway with about 10 mins left. Ros then stepped u a level alien to galway to kill the game.
Not even going to address the jeering comment dry your eyes. Was little or none that u don't see or hear at any game between ros galway or mayo. When the stick fighters out again? In the west its a game for crap footballers
