Listening to Padraig Joyce if ur not play well for ur club u won't get playing for Galway I'd say he prob was not at 2 club matches all year maybe final def at no intermediate matches if that case comer played one match for club Hernon maybe 2 he def played more in America,, most supporters coukd prob name team that will play in championship maybe not the position because management have being know to pick players in crazy positions but I can't see 2 many changes when it come to it Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 1111 - 03/12/2025 21:07:57 2646962 Link 0 |

Interesting where he noted he was undecided as to whether he would stay on or not after last year but that there didn't seem to be a better alternative manager available so he's still there. Have to agree with him on this and it's something co board need to look at in future planning and could be bringing someone like that into backroom team with view to taking over in 2-3 years. Maybe that's what's in mind with Kev Johnson taking over the u20s. Gaagael15 (Galway) - Posts: 15 - 04/12/2025 08:16:27 2646974 Link 0 |

Clubman of ours involved with the Galway Minors. He said its nearly impossible to get it right and give new players an opportunity. There was over 120 players in for 3 trial sessions that overlapped with the end of u16/u17 competitions and the start of school football and returning soccer season. 2026 season isn't far away so those numbers are cut to 40 already and then down to 35 in January. 4 /5 of the 35 will be u16s to develop them for 2027 and 95% of the other 30/31 were Ted Web u16 panellists in 2025. Tough on lads trying to break in but management going with who the already know from the panel they Coached successfully at u16 this year.
