Alan Naughton surely worth a go with the county panel. 12 points in the intermediate final and has been superb all year for Caltra. 3-50 scored in total in this year's intermediate championship. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2436 - 26/10/2025 15:29:07 2641679Link 1
Young Mulryan made some impressive key plays too. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4456 - 26/10/2025 18:00:30 2641719Link 1
I think Mulryan along side Ciaran Mulhern will be favorites for the county u20 captaincy. Outside bets would be Shay Mcglinchy or maybe Charlie Cox WonTon5 (Galway) - Posts: 74 - 27/10/2025 01:28:21 2641772Link 1
Big congrats to Caltra. Well deserved. And i think they will hold their own up in senior. Would be nice to them getting a run in the AI intermediate as well. anotheralias (Galway) - Posts: 1014 - 27/10/2025 09:58:40 2641794Link 1
Was Alan Naughton not in with Galway last year? Loughrey and Sean Keane too. Jellybaby (Dublin) - Posts: 373 - 27/10/2025 10:01:46 2641796Link 1

Best goalie on show over the weekend was Magnus from Spiddal kicked 3 2 pointers and pinged plenty of kickouts and good saves. Naughton kicked 12 points but still best player on pitch was Mulryan. Credit to Caltra and good to see a rural club back senior. Salthill flatter to deceive again game was there for them to win when went a point up but again similar to 22 found a way to not win it. Moycullen a serious outfit and 3 titles since 20 is some going. They find a way to win Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 438 - 27/10/2025 11:14:29 2641814Link 0
Would be an absolute disaster for Joyce if the rumours about Matthew Thompson heading to the states next year are correct. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 1017 - 27/10/2025 13:41:43 2641834Link 0
Maurice Brosnan mentioned that he's due to go on Erasmus to the US next Summer for the second half of next year. I'm sure that they will try everything to work something out but it's not certain he'll be available to Galway next year at the moment. Also mentioned that Peter Cooke is living in London now but working US hours for his employer. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2436 - 27/10/2025 15:38:29 2641858Link 0
| They need to do all they can to get Dessie Connelly back in the Galway squad for next year, his accuracy and his 2 pointers were outstanding in club games and he's a safest pair of hands to take frees. That last 2 pointer from the field was extremely impressive stiff, he's got incredible focus. Finnerty and Tomo missed very easy ones. | I think Dessie will be leaving the country when Moycullen's championship ends. I doubt he'd ever go back in after the lack of chances he got the last time he went in. bollocks (Galway) - Posts: 12 - 27/10/2025 17:46:57 2641888Link 0 |
Put it this way, you'd take Dessie over Tomo every day of the week as a player. Twice on Sundays. TanCanRan (Galway) - Posts: 309 - 27/10/2025 21:09:25 2641927Link 3
There is no point having Dessie in the panel if they haven't any intention of playing him, as was the situation before. backtooldwall (Galway) - Posts: 194 - 27/10/2025 21:48:30 2641935Link 0
Completely agree dont know what Tomo has done to deserve his incluison over the last 5 years one point against the Dubs in 24 sticks out but I have not seen him stand out in club games. Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 438 - 28/10/2025 09:15:47 2641956Link 1
Dessie won't be taking those frees when playing for Galway. He didn't over impress with chances given but I'd bring him in if available and open. Antaine olaoi was another in similar boat but didn't impress with development squad Tomo cant seem to stay fit long enough to get a run and has had ineffective club seasons last 2 years. jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1718 - 28/10/2025 10:17:37 2641970Link 0
| I'd have to totally disagree with you, Tomo made massive impacts when he got the chance on, Finnerty lacks character when it comes to the big games. He can't step up when we need him, you could see that on Saturday night, they both had chances with straightforward frees to win the game for Salthill, and they couldn't get it over. Dessie then had an extremely difficult free from the ground, under hugh pressure and he got it. Dessie has incredible accuracy and focus taking with frees and two pointers. Shane Walsh and Finnerty are inconsistent and that's our main problem when it comes to All Ireland QFs, semi finals and getting the All Ireland. Padraig Joyce will really need to do everything he can to woo himself and Peter Cooke back on the team if they want their All Ireland. Cein D'Arcy is another one who's been impressive. | Are you talking about salthill or Galway re finnerty and tomo either way it's nonsense jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1718 - 28/10/2025 11:18:02 2641984Link 0 |
Massive imapcts from Tomo please enlighten us. Only impact I remember is the point against Dublin when he kicked a point other than that struggling to remember an impact and games I have seen for SK he has not offerred anything. Even his 2 freees the last day I knew and so did majority in stadium that he was never going to kick them Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 438 - 28/10/2025 12:11:02 2641996Link 1
