The free from the scoreboard corner was ridiculous alright. He kicked that from 6or7 yards nearer the goal than where the infringement was. Kicked a much easier free than the one he was actually awarded. . Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 3875 - 27/10/2024 16:49:38 2577184 Link 0 |
Black card was probably planned by Corofin to get him the standing ovation. They had everything else covered. Moycullen's county players just didn't turn up. Corofin appear to have traps set for Sean Kelly the way county teams have counteracted his attacks in recent times.

Agreed, he kept at it til the end and was definitely one of Maigh Cuilinn's best. Conditions were very difficult and I wouldn't be judging players too much on end-product on a day like today. I think Sice was questioning the free given to Maigh Cuilinn. It probably should have been a free-out just before it. That ref is very strict on any back-chat. Looking at match 2 day hard understand how Eoin Kelly' and Paul Kelly' on county squads in 64 mins I can't remember Paul Kelly actually kicking the ball I watched salthill last day also hard figure out how so many in Galway squad I have wondered for a long tome does Padraig actually know what he looking at when he picking players ,, good to see Sean Kelly' full back in his right position not muffled or wing forward ,, I think for 2025 John Maher should be Galway captain,, Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 953 - 27/10/2024 17:09:11 2577198 Link 1 |
Then you see the likes of Conor Cunningham today who has the pace and physical attributes to be a top player at County level, has never been on a county senior panel as far as I'm aware.

We were the better team without a doubt. Thrilled with the young lads coming through not to take anything from Sicey! handpassking (Galway) - Posts: 438 - 27/10/2024 17:49:49 2577213 Link 0 |
Corofin not my club. Delighted they won though. They had a plan, took their opportunities, had leaders all over the field. Chalk n cheese. Enjoy the night in Moycullen.

Think it's more a case of Sean Kelly's body settin traps for him than the opposition. Hopefully he gets back to his best as he's a great player that Galway need to get across the line.

I'd like to see Darragh Silke given game time at IC. He scored a couple of beauties off his left, and will hopefully progress to be a competent replacement for Finnerty if required. Overall, imo marksmanship was the difference between the teams. I loved the bagpipe intro. especially the sound technician's improvisation holding the mic. to the instrument. Best team clearly won. Disappointed we never really put it up to them . Poor affair overall, we never made it competitive galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1704 - 27/10/2024 19:06:07 2577237 Link 0 |
Michael's definitely favourites but Caltra seem to be going in the right direction again. They've been good this year. Think the final might be a step too far for them though.

congrats to Corofin, they have well and truly back in the winning habit in Galway again and after losing the Connacht final last year they'll be out to win this year. I expected a lot more from Moycullen for all the money they have spent on their new management team and coaches, still too slow and laborious in their play and you won't win many senior finals scoring just 0-9. Not really disappointed to be honest. You started with the corofin insult.

For the level of talent they have Moycullen always seem to play with the handbrake on. Far too conservative. Even behind 5 or 6 points today they never really went for broke.

Corofins overall football ability just won it out for them. They can play it anyway, by foot or by hand. Moycullen are a bit one dimensional in that they rarely move the ball by foot. It will be interesting to see how Corofin do in Connacht. There is a general consensus that the standard in Galway is not as good as it was say from 2017 to 2022. Time will tell. Who is this General consensus talking rubbish about the standard? Look at it objectively: 2017-19: Corofin 3 in a row AI 2020: cancelled 2021: MM beaten by Padraig pearses in csf who were beaten in aisf 2022: Moycullen beaten in aisf 2023: Corofin beaten by Brigid's in cf, who got to aif. So really Mr general consensus is talking brown as 2023 no real difference from 21 or 22. systematic (Galway) - Posts: 119 - 28/10/2024 08:30:50 2577299 Link 0 |
