Replying To SixtiesKid: "I am of the view that if the ordinary supporter was kept in the loop a bit more there would be a higher level of interest. We will see a few die-hard supporters fetching up for the beginning of the league. Meanwhile we see Connacht Rugby selling out 25k in Castlebar. The perpetual secrecy has one effect. It kills interest in the game. We need to wake up and keep genuine hurling supporters informed as to what is going on. People will go to games if they have a local interest in the team and if they are treated with a bit more respect."
I actually totally agree. It is even more ridiculous in an ameteur sport, imo. They should be marketing these players front and centre, giving squad lists etc. Doing some of the stuff in the lead up to All Irelands all year long
