Don't worry about catch/jimbo sure he said Donegal would hammer Cavan in the Ulster final last year.

Are you not doing the same?? Kettles and pots- I genuinely feel you know absolutely nothing about football only tired old cliches but whatever floats your boat. So can you answer one question I put to you- why did Dublin county Board ban their own manager if it was just a kick around among a few lads in the park?? Surely he should not have been suspended if it was not an organised training session????? the creeler (Cavan) - Posts: 512 - 22/05/2021 21:33:18 2344315 Link 2 |
Very simple, a pragmatic decision, Dessie takes the rap for the players, irrespective of what knowledge he had or hadn't of the training, suited not only Dublin but also the GAA, neither of which would want a witch hunt of players, and then appeals etc. Sensible move by the Dublin County Board to minimise the fall-out and it worked.

It shouldn't have been the county boards banning their own managers it should have been a decision from Croke Park, anyway not sure anyone cares anymore, not having the manager on the line is a bit weird for a team though. Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3206 - 22/05/2021 22:21:48 2344330 Link 0 |
The point is Dessie did know, of course he did- if he did not it would not say much for his authority in the group. Players doing things like organising illegal training sessions off their own bat with a lookout man. If he did not know he should be asking why didn't I know??? the creeler (Cavan) - Posts: 512 - 22/05/2021 22:47:34 2344339 Link 2 |

I predictef dublin to win by 5-6 points and I'd say it'll be double that by the finish. KingdomBoy1 (Kerry) - Posts: 14092 - 23/05/2021 14:28:22 2344492 Link 0 |
Disgraceful refereeing performance here, he shouldn't ref another game this summer. You'd have to wonder if some of these refs are gaa people at all as any gaa person would know to play those advantages for Kerry there. The Kerry defending is nearly as bad as the referee also! What happened to the advantage rule? suppose they have changed that too, that was a good goal Kerry got and he calls it back for a free? Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3206 - 23/05/2021 14:34:52 2344499 Link 1 |
I wonder what does Pat Spillane make of that puke football blanket defence being deployed by Kerry? Tirchonaill1 (Donegal) - Posts: 3206 - 23/05/2021 14:45:32 2344502 Link 2 |
This game is absolutely dire. Both teams get 14 men behind the ball..passing sideways and backwards. Only difference between the two is that Jerry can't play blanket defence whereas Dublin are experts at it. Complete rubbish mayotyroneman (Tyrone) - Posts: 1821 - 23/05/2021 14:50:34 2344508 Link 2 |
Nah, they'll do that when the championships on the table.

You obviously don't understand the rules. On both occasions Spillane and moynihan travelled for 8 or 9 steps while being fouled. Referee couldn't allow scores because both players had over carried. Correct decision on both occasions was to award free kick to Kerry as the foul was the initial transgression. Excellent refereeing decisions.

Jez thats a lovly handpassing Dublin team. Tyrion (Donegal) - Posts: 165 - 23/05/2021 15:21:19 2344517 Link 4 |
See the problem is. . If he refs it correctly he gets the ex Dublin players in the media calling him out, like Whelan did to David Gough after the drawn 2019 final. Referees know which side their bread is buttered and god forbid they hold Dublin to account (see the Cormac Costello red card last November). It's just another obstacle to be overcome when playing Dublin. Part and parcel of the game for a long long time now. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5251 - 23/05/2021 15:21:53 2344518 Link 18 |

An undeserved draw from my pov. Kerry were excellent in the 2nd half and deserved the full points for me. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13803 - 23/05/2021 15:28:37 2344520 Link 10 |
