A hacked up rugby competition of clubs in four countries of Europe is not in the same league" It is but what county would want their county final moved to croker The Galway hurling final in athenry was amazing this year moving it to croker would be height of stupidity You would probably be complaining when super 8 games are played in croker instead of having them in regional towns getting much needed income to those towns Would you like your championship games in Connacht moved to croker? This game is not stopping counties playing in croker either. On a separate note why is the Aviva not been used out of interest? Christ on a bike." Dublin do devalue Croke Park by playing their league games there, that is a separate issue The minute rugby was allowed to be played in CP it devalued it as a stadium. This nonsensical idea that Croke Park should be some sort of place reserved only for the use of GAA players belongs to days of the past.... it's nothing but pure protectionism ideology. The GAA has absolutely nothing to fear from other sports using Croke Park. Other sports are charged well for the use of Croke Park and it makes complete commercial sense to do so (unless you believe in magic money trees or what not). And as you well know, most of that money is reinvested in the grassroots of the GAA. I cannot for the life of me understand why GAA people are worried about what other sports are up to. Good God... a lot to unpack here.... not even sure why I'm replying to such nonsense but anyhow.... 1. 'Sports can end though'.... Wow. What complete and utter nonsense. Utter alarmist nonsense. If attendances drop over the coming years that will not be anything to do with other sports. That's on the GAA. 2. The GAA could have refurbished Casement Park but no they decided to close it completely and let it go to rack & ruin. And now the cost of replacing it is in the order of 300million. Ravenhill cost 16.5million to refurbish / build which increased it's capacity to nearly 19k. I'm sure you're well aware the GAA want a stadium holding nearly 35k. 3. 'It's grand for people like you in Leitrim' Wow... we do play other sports in Leitrim ya know. There's a fairly vibrant rugby club in Carrick On-Shannon and a number of soccer clubs through the county. And prey tell what exact facilities are the GAA funding for our clubs in Leitrim?
