I was at hurling league game not that long before they shut it up. Other grounds were rehabilitated without being let close never mind being allowed go into dereliction. It was a good hurling pitch, even though they were found of randomly moving the sidelines depending on the visitors! To me, it is classic example of counting chickens, and not even GAA chickens. It's over 10 years since Casement was last in use. They should have kept the stadium in use until it was known, for definite, that the stadium was going to be built. That's what they should have done. There was absolutely no reason not to.

So spending hundreds of millions unnecessarily is a good use of money in your eyes???

It was a real shame how it went. It was an excellent ground to watch a game.

I see Leinster rugby are offering the American football team a training session in croke park when they are in town. GAA need to put a end to this takeover by Leinster rugby. They think it's their stadium now. Kew (Galway) - Posts: 139 - 08/02/2025 17:07:46 2590067 Link 4 |

England winning a 6nations match on their home patch is now reported as 'a major shock' on RTE news tonight. Who writes these bs headlines? Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 3994 - 08/02/2025 22:20:07 2590151 Link 0 |
Leinster supporters will be wearing straw hats to the games next

I take it that you are not fully clued in to the state of play in the rugby internationals recently. Just in case - France are regarded as the hot property in Europe presently. England were on a 13 (I think) losing streak. So, in real terms, it was a "major" shock that they won. Just buy a newspaper in the morning and they will talk you through it.

England bust our Grand Slam last season. France did not. You should evaluate sports for yourself, and don't be led by some of the bs you read in papers. Why are France a 'hot property'? It's not because they've proven anything on the field recently anyway. France 'on the road' in 6nations has been a dodgy ticket throughout my lifetime. England's losing streak, before yesterday, was 1. France are fickle. A bit like their soccer team, good but very dependant on one player in big games. No team that lets a game slip like that deserves to be called hot property. Shambolic defence near their line. Complacency.

'Hats, flags, scarves or headbands' in a West Brit accent, on Clonliffe Road would be strange.

A great result for Ireland today against Scotland, France is potentially the second-best team in the 6 Nations and will seriously test Irelands strengths. Great too to see a Young Sam Prendergast winning the player of the match title at a canter, almost. Just 21 years of age and playing in his first away game and a small handful of other games to his credit. job well done. supersub15 (Carlow) - Posts: 3126 - 09/02/2025 18:53:45 2590290 Link 4 |
It's a screenshot I'm not adding you to our WhatsApp group lol how am I wound up ? So is it PR for Americans? GAA are allowing Leinster rugby to walk all over them and not helping grow interest in Leinster championship. I know Munster rugby relies on Leinster players to make up a team but you just blindly defend rugby on here non stop. Just because Munster rugby is dependent on Leinster doesn't mean they can do as they please and use the GAA.

Are the musicians that play in Croke Park also 'using' the GAA? What have Munster Rugby having Leinster players got yo do with anything. You might see there are New Zealanders playing for Ireland. It's a professional sport with it's own rules. There are other sports here besides GAA. We don't have to like them but the GAA is more than able to stand on it's own two feet and give terms to anyone that wants to rent out the best stadium in the land. They're not paranoid that they can't get children to take up GAA sports because they do so. Or a rake of lads that went to Garth Brooks will abandon the hurling team to become professional line dancers. Some lads with keyboards that love whinging might be.
