Hope you find a pub but try GAAGO if you can't. Very good option.

I was in Barcelona for the Connacht final last year. Watched it in Michael Collins Bar Placa de La Sagrada Familia (City Centre ish). World cup was on so a big crowd in for that but they turned on a TV in at the back for the football. It will probably be more centre stage this Sunday coming. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info kiloughter and everyone who posted replies, will get to see it someway. Hoping for a good game, good result also for the Ross but they need to go to Salthill with same mindset as Castlebar and it could be a classic.

Tough game to call. it is the only provincial football final in which there is no clear favourite in..No doubt joe brolly will use the connacht final to speak of his 2 tier competition instead of doing analysis brisbane (Galway) - Posts: 675 - 12/06/2019 21:02:03 2194156 Link 1 |
I think Brolly favors three tiers - to start with

He will talk about us guaranteed and we not even in the Connacht final.

Yes, and then he will lay into Paddy Tally and then Kevin Walsh..

Alan Brogan wants the GAA to ditch the provincial championships because Dublin have it to easy. Weaker counties like Roscommon and Cavan rarely make provincial finals brisbane (Galway) - Posts: 675 - 13/06/2019 14:06:54 2194438 Link 0 |
Hardly rare for Roscommon at this stage, 4th year in a row

I think he is referring to Cork and Meath in this case. Ros have a 50/50 chance and on form Cavan next best bet of the perceived underdogs.

Alan Brogan doesn't know his gaa history unfortunately.Roscommon have won 24 senior Connacht football titles and have played in 47 senior Connacht Football Finals. He also doesn't seem to know that Cavan ruled Ulster football in the 1920s,30s and 1940s.Cavan have won 37 senior Ulster football titles.By comparison,Donegal have won 9.Brogan shouldn't be writing in a national newspaper when he doesn't know his stuff.

He's wrong about the Rossies but he said Cavan's appearances in Ulster finals are rare, it's 18 years since the last one. Or possibly suggesting that their appearance in the final might liven up a Connacht and Ulster final? Other than maybe not knowing his stuff he talks about a problem but seems not to have any suggestions how to improve it. He's a very smart guy so he might make a few suggestions. link GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 7973 - 13/06/2019 21:31:00 2194594 Link 5 |
He failed to mention the only problem in leinster is dublin who have been giving huge advantages over its leinster competitors.

50 50 game on Sunday, would not surprise a lot of Galway people if Roscommon win. Naturally I hope we can let loose with our forwards and I believe our bench maybe stronger than Ros which could have a say. Belclare (Galway) - Posts: 904 - 14/06/2019 10:56:11 2194748 Link 1 |
Well thankfully you're filling that gap by mentioning it at every opportunity. That's also far from Leinster's only problem. Leaving Dublin aside, none of the other Leinster teams have made any impact in the All Ireland championship for quite some time. Meath have only just come out of Divison 2 for the first time in around a decade. Kildare have bounced up and down and have mixed the decent with the awful at times. There's no reason why those two counties in particular shouldn't be as competitive as Mayo, Donegal, Tyrone and Galway over the last 5 years. Meath are certainly making progress and it'll be interesting to see how they develop. Kildare have potential but are struggling so far this year. Not nice to be on the outside looking in again. Good luck to both teams, hopefully a good game. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11563 - 14/06/2019 15:08:06 2194886 Link 5 |
Cavan have declined since the 1960s and next week will indeed be their first appearance in an Ulster Final in 18 years and great to see them there. No pundit Alan Brogan or anybody should forget that Cavan were once the superpower of Ulster football and have 4 times as many Senior Ulster Football titles as their opponents next week.
